Chapter 1087

โ€œTheyโ€™re coming!โ€ Erica rushed to close the door.

Liza was puzzled. โ€œThe groom is here to pick up the bride? Why are you closing the door?โ€

โ€œYou donโ€™t get it,โ€ Erica said, piling up everything she could find to block the door. โ€œThis is tradition.โ€

โ€œWhat kind of tradition?โ€ Liza asked.

โ€œYou wouldnโ€™t understand,โ€ Erica replied. โ€œJust donโ€™t let those guys in easily.โ€

โ€œBut among them is your cousin.โ€

โ€œTrue, but not today.โ€

โ€œBut if you donโ€™t let them in, how are they supposed to take the bride away? What if the wedding ceremony is delayed?โ€

Erica paused. โ€œOh, right. When can I let Marion take you away?โ€

Debra shook her head. This was her first wedding. No one had taught her these customs before.

Erica pulled out her phone and started searching online. โ€œDammit. Network lag.โ€

Just then, a beeping sound echoed outside, and the door opened. Randy poked his head in, cautiously checking for any traps. Then he entered the room and announced, โ€œMarionโ€™s here to pick up the bride. Everyone, clear out.โ€

โ€œClear out,โ€ Garland echoed, following him inside. The makeup artist and the stylist quickly left the room.

Erica stepped in front of Debra and said, โ€œNot so fast.โ€

Marion came in, dressed in a black suit with a tie. His hair was meticulously styled, looking crisper than ever. In his hands was a bouquet of pink roses. Everyone, Liza included, was amazed by the scene.

โ€œWhy not? Itโ€™s about time,โ€ Randy said anxiously.

While searching for information on her phone, Erica insisted, โ€œAnyway, the groom should present something first before he comes in.โ€

Garland was confused. โ€œLike?โ€

โ€œLike an entrance fee,โ€ Erica replied.

Randy was speechless. โ€œWeโ€™re already inside.โ€

โ€œDoesnโ€™t matter.โ€ Erica stretched out a hand.

Randy could only gesture to Marion. โ€œGive it to her.โ€

Marion shrugged. โ€œMy moneyโ€™s with Debra.โ€

Randy turned to Garland, who winced. โ€œIโ€™m broke.โ€

Finally, Randy looked at Michael, who said blandly, โ€œDonโ€™t look at me. Iโ€™m not the best man.โ€

Resigned to fate, Randy sighed, โ€œAlright, Iโ€™ll pay.โ€ He took out a bank card from his pocket and handed it to Erica. โ€œHere. Can we take the bride now?โ€

โ€œWait a minute.โ€ Erica glanced at Liza, who was standing there like a lemon. โ€œDonโ€™t just stand there. Show your hand.โ€

Liza was puzzled. โ€œWhatโ€™s this for?โ€

โ€œTo ask me for money,โ€ Randy sighed, producing another card. Then he handed one to Michael as well.

Erica nodded in satisfaction. โ€œAlright, picking up the bride isnโ€™t easy. Marion, youโ€™ll have to pass our test.โ€
