Chapter 135
โDebra, this is all Stanleyโs fault. Iโll take him to the police station and let the police handle it,โ Ralph said.
Stanley was exasperated. โDad! How could you send me to the police station?โ
โYou reap what you sow. This is already lenient for you.โ If Marion had handled this privately, Stanley would have been dead.
โUncle Ralph, you donโt have to do that,โ Debra said calmly. โHeโs unreliable because Aunt Rosalie spoils him too much.โ
Ralph nodded. โExactly! Heโs lawless now.โ
โYesterday, Stanley came to talk to me about the distribution of Frazier family property. I merely said a few words, and he wanted to kill me. Thatโs a serious lack of upbringing.โ
โWhat property distribution?โ Ralph was bewildered.
Stanleyโs face flushed red. โShut up!โ
โYou shut up!โ Ralph snapped, kicking him. โYou brat, Iโm not dead yet, and youโre eyeing the family fortune?โ
โI didnโt!โ Stanleyโs bravado weakened. He would not admit to it whatsoever.
Debra said nonchalantly, โItโs not entirely Stanleyโs fault. Someone must have been instigating him. Otherwise, he wouldnโt be talking like this.โ
Ralph understood that Debra was referring to Rosalie. He had always doted on Rosalie, so he turned a blind eye to her misdeeds. But now his beloved woman was coveting his fortune, which infuriated him to no end.
Initially, threatening to take Stanley to the police station was a spur-of-the-moment anger. But now, he made up his mind and grabbed Stanley, saying, โYouโre going to turn yourself in. Unless you learn your lesson in jail, you wonโt change.โ
โAre you serious? Iโm your son! Can you bear to see me in jail?โ
โI donโt have a son like you! When you come out of prison, I wonโt give you a single penny.โ
Ralph fished out his phone and said, โIf you donโt turn yourself in, Iโll personally take you to the police station.โ
Stanley was frightened by Ralphโs fierce look. With one last resentful glance at Debra, he got up and walked away. He could turn himself in; Debra wasnโt badly hurt anyway. Even if he got detained, he would come out soon.
After Stanley left, Ralph had someone secretly monitor him. Debra tried to soothe him. โUncle Ralph, take it easy. Perhaps a few days of education in jail will straighten Stanley out.โ
Ralph nodded. โIโm sorry for what happened to you. I raised such a scoundrel.โ
Debra shook her head and asked, โHow did you find out the truth?โ
โStanley wiped out the surveillance footage. Marion brought evidence and demanded severe punishment.โ
โMarion?โ Debra was stunned. It had been only an hour after he learned about the accident. โHow did he gather evidence so quickly?โ she wondered.
