Chapter 408
Juan ticked off the list on his fingers. โRomance, gifts, money, looks, and figure.โ Joe nodded like a bobblehead. โYouโve got it all, sir. Except maybe the romance bit.โ
Juan shot him a withering glance. โYou think I need a reminder? Prep everything by these standards.โ
โSure.โ
โAnd contact the Potter Group. Iโm visiting them tomorrow.โ
โConsider it done, sir.โ
The next day, the practice room buzzed like a hive of bees.
โYou hear? Mr. Nichols is gracing us with his presence today.โ
โMr. Nichols? Here? That meansโฆโ
Eyes swiveled to Debra, who frowned. She hadnโt heard anything about the arrangement. She whipped out her phone to call Ben, but Hannah swept in and said, โDebra, come with me.โ
Under the collective stare, Debra trailed Hannah out. She stepped into the hallway and spotted Juan downstairs, surrounded by an entourage of suits. Eve, poking her head out, caught sight of her father groveling by Juanโs side.
โEve, isnโt that your dad?โ someone whispered. โWell, Juan is something else. Even Henry Cameron has to entertain him in person.โ
Eve flushed, spinning on her heel to retreat.
In the elevator, Debra grilled Hannah. โWhatโs going on?โ
Hannah sighed. โMr. Nichols is here to discuss a collaboration. He asked for you specifically. Play nice, Debra. His investment could mean big things for us.โ
Debra considered this. Potter Entertainment might be under the Potter Group umbrella, but they still had to dance to the tune of headquarters. Juanโs backing could mean fatter bonuses and bigger budgets.
โDoes Andrew know about this?โ she asked.
Hannah hesitated. โThe higher-ups havenโt informed Mr. Andrew Potter yet.โ
The answer was within Debraโs expectations. If Juanโs potential investment were revealed to Andrew beforehand but didnโt materialize, it would lower Andrewโs expectations of Potter Entertainment. If she were a senior executive, she would do the same.
โThis way.โ Hannah led her to Juan. Henry Cameron, the chairman, was all smiles. โDebra is one of our newest trainees. She knows the company inside and out. Why donโt we have her show you around? We can discuss business over lunch. Iโve made reservations.โ
Juan held up a hand. โMy secretary will handle the details. Iโm borrowing Debra for the day. Is that alright?โ
โSure,โ Henry agreed eagerly.
Debra intended to refuse, but Henry steamrolled over her. โItโs an honor to have Mrs. Nichols as a trainee. We wonโt intrude on your reunion.โ
