Chapter 410
Debra stopped in her tracks, a playful glint in her eyes. โWhy should I agree to this? Iโm just a trainee at Potter Entertainment. Whatโs in it for me?โ
Juan met her gaze. โYou still hold shares in McKinney Group. If Potter Group profits, so does McKinney, and your dividends go up. Itโs a win-win.โ
Debra couldnโt argue with that logic. To the world, she was a fallen heiress drowning in debt. The meager dividends from the McKinney Group werenโt going to fund her champagne lifestyle.
โOkay,โ she relented, walking back. โBut I have conditions.โ
Juan raised an eyebrow. โName them.โ
โThis is a one-time deal, and you keep your distance,โ Debra said, taking a step back. โLike this.โ
โUnderstood,โ Juan agreed swiftly. โAnything else?โ
โNot for now,โ Debra said, turning towards the amusement park.
A faint smile graced Juanโs face as they entered the park. Debra had been there before with her parents. After they passed away, she hadnโt come again.
โPick any ride you want,โ Juan said. โNo waiting in lines.โ
Debra smirked. โBecause thereโs no one else here.โ
The whole amusement park had been booked by Juan. At this rate, theyโd have ridden every ride within two hours.
โSo, I can choose any ride?โ
โYeah.โ
โI want to go on that.โ She pointed to the towering roller coaster nearby.
Juan didnโt bat an eye. โSure.โ
Debra was floored. She knew Juanโs one weakness: he was terrified of heights. Yet, here he was, agreeing to a roller coaster ride without a hint of fear.
Still skeptical, she followed him to the ticket gate. They could have gone straight in, but Debra thought Juan might back out halfway. However, he showed no signs of backing out, even when they were secured with safety measures.
โYou know this thing goes pretty high.โ
โIf you want to ride it, Iโm game.โ
They climbed into the car, and she watched Juan out of the corner of her eye. He was putting on a brave face, but his knuckles were white from gripping the safety bar too tightly.
The roller coaster lurched forward, and she closed her eyes as they climbed the first hill. She thought Juan might give up on spending the day with her after this. But instead, when they got off, he said, โPick the next one.โ
Debra was impressed. If he could handle the roller coaster, what else could scare him? So, she decided to enjoy herself. She could play and still get paid.
She grinned, pointing to the nearby river rapids ride. โIโll try that one.โ
