Chapter 410

Debra stopped in her tracks, a playful glint in her eyes. โ€œWhy should I agree to this? Iโ€™m just a trainee at Potter Entertainment. Whatโ€™s in it for me?โ€

Juan met her gaze. โ€œYou still hold shares in McKinney Group. If Potter Group profits, so does McKinney, and your dividends go up. Itโ€™s a win-win.โ€

Debra couldnโ€™t argue with that logic. To the world, she was a fallen heiress drowning in debt. The meager dividends from the McKinney Group werenโ€™t going to fund her champagne lifestyle.

โ€œOkay,โ€ she relented, walking back. โ€œBut I have conditions.โ€

Juan raised an eyebrow. โ€œName them.โ€

โ€œThis is a one-time deal, and you keep your distance,โ€ Debra said, taking a step back. โ€œLike this.โ€

โ€œUnderstood,โ€ Juan agreed swiftly. โ€œAnything else?โ€

โ€œNot for now,โ€ Debra said, turning towards the amusement park.

A faint smile graced Juanโ€™s face as they entered the park. Debra had been there before with her parents. After they passed away, she hadnโ€™t come again.

โ€œPick any ride you want,โ€ Juan said. โ€œNo waiting in lines.โ€

Debra smirked. โ€œBecause thereโ€™s no one else here.โ€

The whole amusement park had been booked by Juan. At this rate, theyโ€™d have ridden every ride within two hours.

โ€œSo, I can choose any ride?โ€

โ€œYeah.โ€

โ€œI want to go on that.โ€ She pointed to the towering roller coaster nearby.

Juan didnโ€™t bat an eye. โ€œSure.โ€

Debra was floored. She knew Juanโ€™s one weakness: he was terrified of heights. Yet, here he was, agreeing to a roller coaster ride without a hint of fear.

Still skeptical, she followed him to the ticket gate. They could have gone straight in, but Debra thought Juan might back out halfway. However, he showed no signs of backing out, even when they were secured with safety measures.

โ€œYou know this thing goes pretty high.โ€

โ€œIf you want to ride it, Iโ€™m game.โ€

They climbed into the car, and she watched Juan out of the corner of her eye. He was putting on a brave face, but his knuckles were white from gripping the safety bar too tightly.

The roller coaster lurched forward, and she closed her eyes as they climbed the first hill. She thought Juan might give up on spending the day with her after this. But instead, when they got off, he said, โ€œPick the next one.โ€

Debra was impressed. If he could handle the roller coaster, what else could scare him? So, she decided to enjoy herself. She could play and still get paid.

She grinned, pointing to the nearby river rapids ride. โ€œIโ€™ll try that one.โ€
