Chapter 83
โWe?โ Juan chuckled mockingly. โDo you mean Marion and you?โ
Debra frowned. Juan approached, his steps carrying an oppressive aura. โLast time at the hotel, were you with Marion and Randy? Was Erica just covering for you? What exactly is your relationship with Marion? How far has it progressed?โ
He seized her wrist, his eyes boring into hers. Debra instinctively shook his hand off. โEnough! I have no idea what youโre talking about!โ
Juan looked at his hand, saying, โPray that Sheliaโs face can be restored. Otherwise, donโt blame me for taking action against them.โ
A scream erupted from inside Sheliaโs ward. Almost instinctively, Juan pushed the door open and saw Shelia smashing a glass. By the time Debra entered, Shelia had already grabbed Juanโs arm, leaning into his embrace. โAm I disfigured? My face is ruined.โ
โAlright, calm down. The doctor said you need to stabilize your emotions, or the freshly stitched wounds might reopen,โ Juan gently reassured her.
Sheliaโs forehead and arms were scarred. When she looked up at Debra, her eyes burned with resentment. Pointing at Debra, she accused, โI didnโt offend you. Why did you do this to me? You were behind this.โ
Debra silently watched Sheliaโs outburst. Initially thinking it was just an accident, Debra now felt there might be more to it. She held Sheliaโs hand, soothingly saying, โShelia, calm down. Let me handle this. Focus on recovering.โ
โJuan, I just wanted to apologize to Miss Mathis. I donโt know when I offended Debra. She and Erica humiliated me multiple times. I really donโt know what I did wrong. If Iโm disfigured, I donโt want to live anymore.โ
Her tear-streaked face pained Juan. He turned to Debra with disgust, just as in her previous life. โGet out! Donโt let me see you again!โ
Joe stepped forward, advising, โMadam, itโs better to leave for now.โ
Glancing at Shelia one last time, Debra saw a triumphant smile as she nestled in Juanโs arms. This smile carried a challenge. Debra sneered and left the ward.
Joe followed, saying, โMr. Nichols is just in a momentary fit of anger. Please donโt take it to heart.โ
โTell him Iโm moving out today. Shelia can stay in the house to recover for as long as she needs,โ Debra said.
Returning to the ward, Joe saw Shelia still sobbing in Juanโs arms. He passed on Debraโs message.
