Chapter 224

Jason rolled his eyes at Patrick. Simultaneously, Patrick heard nearby women gasp and murmur, “Oh my God, he even looks good rolling his eyes!”

Patrick felt a sudden urge to spit blood. Jason had merely rolled his eyes. Did these fangirls have to fawn over his every move?

As Jason removed his gloves, Patrick suddenly realized something and snatched them from Jason's hand.

"They seem hand-knitted," Patrick commented, confused. "The knitting is rather poor, though. The wool looks old. Did a store cheat you? How dare they sell you these?"

"Who said I bought them?" Jason replied lightly.

Patrick's jaw dropped. If he hadn't bought them, then "Someone else must have knitted them for you."

Jason didn't answer, but his expression tacitly confirmed it.

Patrick felt dizzy. Could someone else really have knitted them? Given Jason's personality, he'd never wear something like this. Yet, not only was he wearing them, he was wearing them in public.

Who the hell knitted them? What kind of person made such well, not-so-great gloves, yet ones Jason would wear?

Patrick's mind flashed to rumors about the woman his friend had rescued on Chinese New Year's Eve from a nearby town; he'd even left Old Master Reed behind and alerted the local police on her behalf.

Could it be the same woman?

Lost in thought, Jason extended a hand to Patrick. "Give them back."

"Ah!" Patrick snapped back to reality and was about to return the gloves when a voice rang out. "Those gloves"

"These are the gloves Jason's wearing today," Patrick began, "or"

Before he could finish, Brian said, "They're handmade."

"Ah, you figured it out," Patrick muttered.

Brian stared at the gloves, then at Jason in surprise.

"What is it? What's wrong with the gloves?" Jason asked, noticing Brian's changing expression.

"Are they from someone else?" Brian asked.

"Yes," Jason said, his eyes narrowing, focusing intently on Brian. "Have you seen them before?"

Meeting Jason's gaze, Brian answered frankly, "Yes."

A tension filled the air.

Patrick, unable to contain himself, blurted out, "What are you talking about? What have you seen or not seen? By the way, Brian, why didn't you bring your new girlfriend today? I heard she caused a scene on set and hit a snag."

Brian glanced at Patrick. "You're well-informed."

"It's nothing!" Patrick said humbly. "Just gossip. I heard your girlfriend made her apologize repeatedly, then you publicly snubbed her by sending her to the lounge. Why? Do you have a crush on the extra? Are you dumping your girlfriend?"
