Most of the people on set didn't hear Jason's conversation with the director. They only watched him approach the extras, sparking a flurry of discussion and speculation.

Several female extras were ecstatic at Jason's approach, immediately adopting their most alluring smiles. Sabrina Briggs, in particular, yearned to be in his arms. She fantasized about fainting, or perhaps tripping into him, to initiate a conversation and friendship. After all, he was Jason, the ruler of Emerald City.

Even a secret romance with him was a dream for many women. Jason had been largely unavailable since his fiancée's death in a car accident over three years ago. For Sabrina, seducing him represented a chance to marry into wealth. Confident in her looks and figure, she lacked connections, having been repeatedly rejected at auditions, forcing her to work as an extra.

As Jason drew closer, Sabrina’s carefully constructed plans faltered. She prepared to dramatically fall into his arms, envisioning a scene straight out of a movie or TV series—the classic romantic trope.

Suddenly, Jason stopped. Instead of approaching Sabrina, he smiled at Grace, who stood nearby, and said, "I have some free time today, so I came to see you. Shall we head back together when you're finished filming?"

Sabrina's eyes widened in disbelief, mirroring the reactions of the other extras. Some didn't recognize Jason, but his bearing and attire suggested wealthy origins.

Grace, visibly uncomfortable under the sudden scrutiny, bit her lip.

"You don't like me being here?" Jason asked.

"It's a little too much attention," she whispered.

"Can't handle a little attention? I'd think you'd be used to it, being a lawyer," Jason quipped.

Grace's eyes dimmed. Before her imprisonment, she'd thrived under public scrutiny; now, it terrified her. She only took the extra work to quickly pay off her grandmother's medical bills.

Noticing Grace's sadness, Jason didn't press the issue. Instead, he gently patted her head.

"Oh my God! He's patting her head!" Sabrina gasped, her eyes wide. What was the relationship between Grace and Jason? His tender gesture was astonishing.
