Chapter 448

"Do you think I should tell her the truth?" Jason asked lightly, a deep chill in his eyes.

Terrence shivered. He'd accidentally touched a sore point. The lawsuit and Grace—this was not a matter Young Master Reed would allow outsiders to pry into. All he had to do was follow instructions.

"I'll go to S City now," Terrence said, leaving the study. As he exited, he saw Grace approaching.

"Are you looking for Young Master Reed, Miss Cummins?" he asked respectfully. He knew she would likely become the mistress of the Reed family if things went well. Even if Young Master Reed had initially been playing, he was now serious about her. He'd never seen him take a woman so seriously, not even Jennifer Atkinson, who had been close to becoming the mistress. Grace, however, had achieved this; few in Emerald City would have predicted it.

"Yes," Grace replied. "Did something urgent at the company bring you here so late?"

"Yes, but it's not important. I'll leave you to it," Terrence said, departing.

"Goodbye, then, Terrence," Grace said, approaching the study door. After knocking twice, she entered.

Terrence sighed as the door closed. He knew Grace wouldn't get the truth tomorrow. It would be buried. Even though Young Master Reed wasn't the culprit, he had stood by. He was probably regretting it.

Terrence rushed downstairs and left Reed Residence; he had much work to do.

Grace found Jason by the window. He smiled. "Why are you here?"

"Lina will pick us up tomorrow for S City. She says it's easier to travel together and share the driving," Grace explained.

"Fine," Jason replied.

"We'll leave at seven. It's a two-hour drive, so we'll arrive around nine," Grace added.

"No problem. Since we're leaving at seven, go to bed early," Jason said.

"What about you?" she asked.

"I have some things to attend to. You go to bed first; I'll follow later," he said.

Grace nodded. It was normal for him to be busy running such a large company.

As she turned to leave, Jason pulled her into a hug. "What's the matter?" Grace asked, surprised by the sudden embrace.
