Chapter 76

Timothy’s complexion was ashen, but Quinton finally managed to pull him away. Nora, watching them go, pulled a series of comical faces and gave them the finger. "Haha, take that! So arrogant, and now who's been slapped down? This is priceless!"

Selina looked down thoughtfully. "Nora, I… I haven't really talked much about my own things with you."

"It's okay, Selina. When you're ready to talk, I'll listen. If you don't want to, I won't pry. I trust my instincts, and I trust my brother's judgment. You're the best sister-in-law in the world."

Nora's warmth was almost overwhelming, bringing Selina close to tears. She touched Nora's head. "Let's talk over dinner. I'll tell you then."

Meanwhile, in the underground parking lot, Timothy regained his composure. "Mr. Harvey, is it true Selina and Trevon are married? That's impossible!"

"I have my doubts, and I've been at a loss on how to approach the Clark family," Quinton said. "Selina, an uneducated woman from the countryside, is no match for Trevon. He's seen the high life; there's no way he'd fall for someone like her."

Quinton offered a convenient explanation, and a slightly calmer Timothy nodded. "You're right, Mr. Harvey. Even if Trevon were shallow enough to be attracted to Selina's looks, the Brady family would never accept her. No official announcement, no wedding. I bet Selina will be cast out of the Brady family soon!"

Without the Harvey family's backing, Selina, an uneducated country girl, is insignificant. The Brady family accepting her as Trevon's wife would be a joke! She can contribute nothing and would only diminish their social standing.

Quinton scoffed inwardly. Did Selina truly believe she could transform from a sparrow into a phoenix by aligning herself with Trevon? Displaying such arrogance in front of Timothy and me was pure delusion. At best, she's still a sparrow. Without the Harveys, she'll never become a phoenix.

"I heard the Brady family pushed Trevon's marriage, even setting up blind dates and spreading rumors he was gay. Trevon hates those rumors. Maybe he's using Selina as a decoy, a pretty face, to silence the gossip, deliberately choosing an uneducated country girl…"

Timothy's assessment earned a nod from Quinton. "That's a possibility we considered, indeed the most likely one."

Timothy sneered. "Trevon, my former rival. I never imagined he'd sabotage his own marriage, failing to understand the importance of a powerful alliance. I once aimed to surpass Trevon and lead the Clark Group beyond the Insight Group. But now, the tables have turned! Selina is a useless trophy wife who will only hold him back."

"Timothy, I apologize for not mentioning this earlier. It's just that…"

"Mr. Harvey, I understand. Let's get Manuel out first and not waste any more time. And you promised to help me with something. I hope you'll keep your word."

"I'm aware; there have been rumors about Angel again. It's not easy to track her down; many want to collaborate on a new limited edition with her. I'll supply some leads, and securing it depends on your ability."

Quinton clapped Timothy on the back. "Timothy, I've watched you grow up, and you're like one of my own children. If this old man can help you, I'd be more than happy to."

Timothy appreciated the Harvey family's support. Selina, you think being chosen by Trevon elevates you above us? I'll show you how naive you are!

Selina and Nora returned to the Brady manor, Nora still fuming. "Selina, the Harveys are awful! And Timothy, strutting around like he's all that—who does he think he is?"

"If it weren't for their snobbery, I wouldn't have had my chance with your brother. It's a blessing in disguise. I've realized it's not worth wasting my energy on those who look down on others. What matters is living well and building a better future," Selina responded calmly. Past hardships, where she'd been treated as disposable, taught her to value what truly mattered. Things you can't have can sometimes blind and drive you mad.

"Yeah, don't let them get to you. Now you've got us, and you've got Trevon. We are your family," Nora said, throwing herself into Selina's arms, tears welling. She couldn't comprehend Selina's past experiences.

Selina smiled slightly. "Right, you are my sister. I couldn't care less about the Harvey family or that snake Ashley."

Selina's phone rang—Malcolm.

"The Harveys admitted wrongdoing and sought an out-of-court settlement. They dropped the lawsuit, and Manuel's been released on bail. The kid's lucky he hasn't fully dived into the design industry yet—no scandals for me to dig up. But if there were, I'd have buried him with them."

Malcolm sounded disappointed. He had a solid case, but the Harveys conceded; they preferred a minor blotch on Manuel's record to a drawn-out battle with Selina. "Thanks, Malcolm. Tomorrow, I'm treating you and Lydia to dinner."

Selina wasn't surprised by Quinton's actions, forcing the Harveys to bow their heads. They must be losing sleep tonight, she thought smugly.

As Selina was about to speak to Nora, a deep voice said, "You're back?"

Trevon strolled up, ignoring Nora, and casually put his arm around Selina. "Missed me today, honey?"
