Never Truly Over Chapter 7
Chapter 7
“No!” Quinn exclaimed in surprise. In her struggle, Cameron had torn her shirt collar. Her clothes were so unscrupulously torn that she felt embarrassed and annoyed.
Unfortunately, Cameron seemed unable to hear Quinn’s shouts and continued to act irrationally. He repeatedly assaulted her, leaving hickeys all over her until they were both exhausted.
Quinn wasn’t sure how long the ordeal lasted. By the time Cameron finally left her alone and fell asleep, she felt as if her whole body had been crushed. The pain was unbearable.
Her tears had dried, leaving mottled streaks on her face. After a moment of panic, she glanced at Cameron, who slept beside her.
Under the dim light, his expression was no longer cold, his hardened features softened. Despite that, Quinn still felt terrified.
She stood, put on her torn clothes from the floor, and endured the discomfort as she stumbled from the room.
An hour later, Harry returned with a doctor. Seeing Quinn was gone, he became concerned.
The doctor examined Cameron and frowned. “How strange,” he said to Harry. “Mr. Sutton looks fine; there are no signs of him being drugged.”
“Is that so?” Harry looked equally puzzled.
Cameron, sleeping peacefully, woke at the sound of their conversation. Seeing him awaken, Harry immediately asked, “Mr. Sutton, have you awakened? How are you feeling?”
Cameron sat up, rubbing his head and feeling slightly faint. “I’m fine. I’m just slightly dizzy.”
“If you’re feeling dizzy, more rest will do. Mr. Campbell, I won’t disturb you further since Mr. Sutton is fine. Please feel free to contact me if you need anything,” the doctor said.
After ensuring Cameron had no major issues, the doctor left.
Harry saw the doctor out before returning to the room.
Cameron turned to get out of bed. He was about to pour himself a glass of water when he felt a foreign object under his feet. He moved his foot and found a star-shaped diamond earring.
After bending to pick it up, he thought it looked familiar. Before he could examine it closer, Harry entered with a glass of water.
“Mr. Sutton, you were lucky this time. Nothing dangerous happened. I never expected Mr. Smith Senior would use such despicable means to force you to marry his granddaughter,” Harry said angrily, handing Cameron the water.
Cameron drank a few sips. He gradually regained his composure, his expression turning exceptionally cold.
“I was going to give him an escape route for Grandpa’s sake. But since he can’t tell the difference, there’s no need for politeness. I want Ascend Group to cease to exist within a week,” Cameron said.
“Don’t worry. I’ll immediately draft the acquisition plan and ensure that everything the Smith family owns will be the Suttons’ within a week,” Harry responded confidently.
After speaking, he noticed Cameron’s doubtful expression and cautiously asked, “Mr. Sutton, did you see Ms. Lawson?”
Cameron’s brows furrowed slightly as he tried to recall his memories.
Seeing this, Harry continued, “After I sent you back to your room, I called Ms. Lawson to take care of you. But when I arrived with the doctor, she was gone. Do you think she—”
“Enough,” Cameron interrupted, holding the earring tightly. He’d guessed what happened. “Let’s head back to the hotel.”
“Yes, sir.” Harry quickly retrieved Cameron’s suit jacket and helped him put it on. They left the club.
Returning to the hotel, Cameron noticed the maid’s room door ajar. Not seeing Quinn inside, his suspicions were confirmed.
