Listen to this chapter:

Quinn had learned the truth and understood the news. Tom sounded slightly disappointed at how intently she was looking at Harry. "They..."

"Yes," Harry mumbled tacitly.

Quinn heard that and stared at the two, looking bewildered. "What do you guys plan to do?!"

"Why? Are you fixing to intercede?" Harry couldn't help but question her tone.

"I…" Quinn opened her mouth. "I'm doing fine now, albeit a bit shaken. Can't we just let things be?"

"No," Cameron rejected her kind suggestion without hesitation. "Ms. Lawson, you have to get things right. You're safe today because Mr. Sutton put his life at risk to save you." Harry sounded slightly displeased.

"Harry Campbell!" Cameron shouted to stop him from continuing. He hadn't done enough to save her, and suddenly developed a strong feeling for her.

Quinn hadn't expected she could escape the investigation team safely because of Cameron. It was a sense of security, being protected by someone. She had never felt that way for as long as she could remember. Most of the time, she was the one protecting others, as she had to take care of her sickly mother. But now, Cameron, who wasn't related to her, had helped her.

"Thank you…" She didn't know how to express her gratitude.

"That's it?" Cameron asked deliberately, arching a brow.

"Hmm," Quinn looked a bit troubled. She wondered what else she could do.

"Mr. Sutton was trying to ask if Ms. Lawson could thank him with something more practical," Harry chimed in from the side.

"Something practical? But I have nothing," Quinn stretched out both hands. It wasn't that she was petty and didn't want to give him anything; she really had nothing.

"Perhaps you can offer yourself or so. That's what people always do in dramas, right?" Harry teased.

Quinn was rendered speechless. She was so embarrassed that her cheeks and neck flushed red. She looked down and couldn't utter a word.

"Uh-huh! Ms. Lawson, you're blushing!" Harry stared at her red cheeks and couldn't help laughing. However, mid-laugh, he looked around and realized Cameron had been staring at him with a straight look. The smile faded from Harry's face, and he wore a serious expression.

"I'll check the budget documents again," Harry said, immediately fleeing the scene.

After Harry left, Cameron fixed his gaze on Quinn again. Then, he gestured at the couch next to her. "Have a seat."

Quinn pondered for a while before sitting down.

"What Harry said just now—" he began.

"I know. Mr. Campbell likes to joke around. I won't take it to heart," Quinn quickly interrupted before he could finish, wanting to make things less awkward for herself.

"You can take it to heart." However, what he wanted to express was obviously different from her comprehension.

"Huh?" Quinn was stunned.

"I like you," he confessed. His deep-set eyes shone with sincerity, like sparkling stars in the sky, casting a soft glow on her face.
