Chapter 71
Quinn could hear her heart pounding. Was Cameron confessing? Did he like her? She wondered if it was real.
I’ll leave Xenvale once the bidding ends tomorrow. You can consider leaving with me or staying. Cameron didn’t force her to reply, merely giving her two choices.
“W–Why?” Quinn was still in disbelief. Why would a superior and arrogant man like him fall for her? How could this be?
She wondered if she could have the same fate as the main lead in a fairy tale.
“Do you want to hear compliments from me?” There was a hint of a smile in his gaze.
Quinn’s face flushed even redder. That wasn’t what she meant. She merely wanted to know why he would be attracted to her.
“Come here. I’ll tell you.” He waved at her while speaking gently.
Quinn stood up obediently and walked up to him. Before she could steady herself, he reached out his arm. She could smell a mature, manly scent on him.
His thin lips went close to her ears. She could feel the warm air around her earlobes as he breathed. It was in his chest. He held her by the waist, exerting some force and pulling her into his arms. She felt her body start burning uncontrollably. Then, she buried herself in his embrace.
Cameron opened his mouth and whispered into her ears. She was stunned at first; then, a shy look crept across her face. He could never resist when she acted like this.
Quinn had no idea that she could never escape since the moment she fell into his embrace.
When they landed in Yarran, Quinn felt a familiarity she hadn’t experienced in a long time. She took a deep breath and lamented inwardly. In the end, she was back here again.
Two Mercedes-Benz stopped at the landing area. One of them was a sedan, and the other was an MPV. The chauffeur and higher-ups of Imperial Group stood next to the door.
Carperon strode toward the MPV as soon as he got off the plane. Meanwhile, Harry had arranged for Quinn to take the sedan.
“You should go back first. Mr. Sutton has just come back to Varan. There are many things he needs to deal with. He also has a celebration party to attend tonight. You don’t have to wait for him,” Harry said.
Quinn looked at Cameron, who was surrounded by people as he got into the car. Despite feeling slightly disappointed deep down, she smiled and nodded, “Okay. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of myself.”
“Okay. Call me if something comes up,” Harry said before reminding the chauffeur of something. Then, he turned around and walked toward the MPV.
Quinn looked out of the window in a daze. Suddenly, she was amused. Somehow, she had actually looked forward to spending time with Cameron.
After they left the airport and arrived in town, Quinn didn’t tell the chauffeur to go to Cameron’s villa straightaway. She still clearly remembered that all the food in the refrigerator of the luxurious house had expired.
