Chapter 74

Alright, Quinn wouldn’t move. She sighed and leaned her head quietly against Cameron’s chest; she felt a warm feeling inside her. Although they hadn’t spent much time together, and despite the fact that their relationship had initially been built on money, she felt a sense of security from him that she had been missing for a long time. He was probably the only one in the world who didn’t care at all about whether she was with him for money or not. He was confident enough to believe that his own charisma was enough to win her over. Perhaps his embrace was just too comfortable, or maybe she simply got sleepy too easily. Before long, she fell asleep again without realizing she had done so.

When she woke up again, there was no sign of Cameron. She picked up her phone to look at the time, only to find that Melissa had sent her a long voice message and a short video. She pressed play and heard Melissa’s excited voice at once. “Ms. Lawson, I have big news! You might not believe this, but the police came and took Rebecca away today!”

“Apparently, she’s being convicted of doxxing people on the internet or something. I can’t remember! I can’t believe that she was the one who leaked your information on the internet! That’s so despicable and disgusting! She got what she deserved.”

The video showed Rebecca being taken away by the police. The angle at which the video was taken wasn’t very good, but it was clearly taken secretly. Quinn stared at her phone in a daze, and she suddenly remembered Cameron and Harry’s conversation at the hotel. It appeared that Harry had been the one who had arranged for Rebecca to be taken away by the police. She had thought that, at most, Rebecca would just lose her job. Now, it seemed like they were planning to put her in prison. Chad clearly underestimated him!

She got out of bed and went downstairs. She saw a…

When the woman saw Quinn, she greeted her immediately. “Ms. Lawson, you’re awake.”

“Hello? Who are you?” Quinn walked down the stairs and looked at the unfamiliar woman in confusion.

“My name is Hilda. I’m the housekeeper Mr. Sutton hired to handle your daily needs,” Hilda Manning introduced herself. “You must be hungry. There’s breakfast in the kitchen.”

Hilda turned and went to the kitchen. Quinn hadn’t expected Cameron to be so thoughtful. He had even hired a housekeeper to take care of her! Honestly, Quinn was perfectly capable of taking care of the house if they were the only ones living in it.

The breakfast was brought to the table, and Quinn walked over. She had just started eating when her phone rang. Melody called. She told Quinn that there was a gathering the day after tomorrow and asked her to come along. Quinn had only just returned to Yatian, and she had been planning to contact a few of her old classmates with whom she had been close in the past, so she agreed at once.

After breakfast, she had nothing to do, so she helped Hilda clean the whole house, both inside and outside. Although Hilda tried to stop her and seemed very anxious, Quinn insisted. Hilda had no choice but to thank her profusely. After they had cleaned the house, they cooked lunch together. They had developed a pleasant relationship in just half a day. Despite the short time together, Hilda felt that she had never met such a wonderful person; it made her even more earnest in doing her job. When lunch was ready, Hilda asked Quinn, “Ms. Lawson, shall we call Mr. Sutton and ask if he’s coming back for lunch?”
