Chapter 92

Zane’s words successfully lightened the mood. A faint smile appeared on Quinn’s face.

“I didn’t sneak inside. Zoe invited me.” Although she didn’t care about being misunderstood by others, she felt the need to explain to the person who had just saved her.

“I believe you,” he replied.

Quinn was surprised that Zayne would believe her so easily, especially considering they were practically strangers.

“Your eyes don’t lie,” he said with a smile as he opened his car door. “You probably haven’t eaten anything tonight, and you just threw up a lot. Let’s go. I’ll take you somewhere to eat to thank you for saving my life.”

“There’s no need to do so. You saved me, too, so we’re even,” Quinn replied, not wanting to trouble him any further.

Zayne didn’t insist. “Alright, then. Let me at least give you a ride home.”

Quinn politely declined. “Thank you for the offer, but I have a driver.”

Zayne nodded, understanding. “I should have guessed. How could someone who wears custom P&T not afford a driver?”

“What?” Quinn was confused.

“Your dress is beautiful,” Zayne said before getting into his car. He then waved at her, started the engine, and drove off.

Quinn looked down at her dress. She seemed to understand something. But wait! Zayne’s jacket was still draped over her shoulders!

Forget about it. The neckline of her dress was low, so she needed something to cover up. His jacket would do for now.

She called her driver to pick her up from the side of the road. While she waited, she pulled out her phone and searched for P&T. The results made her jaw drop.

It turned out that P&T was an ordinary high-end luxury brand—a centuries-old, top-tier bespoke fashion house that exclusively designed gowns for a select few, like royalty and the ultra-wealthy. Their garments had no labels or tags, and each piece was unique. The only way to recognize them was through the intricate artistic patterns subtly woven into the fabric.

Of course, these patterns weren’t something just anyone could see; some could only be detected from specific angles or with specialized tools. As such, unless someone was deeply familiar with P&T, they wouldn’t recognize the brand.

This explained why Zoe had mocked her so confidently. If Zoe could tell what she was wearing, she might have feared Quinn’s mysterious benefactor.

When Quinn finally returned home, she threw herself into the bathtub. She had a long soak, hoping to wash off any trace of the disgusting contact from those two men. She took off the torn dress and discarded it in the laundry basket.

It was quiet, and her head felt heavy. A strong wave of exhaustion washed over her. Before long, she drifted into a deep sleep in the tub.

It was already bright outside when she woke up. She realized she was in bed. She groggily rubbed her face and threw off the covers before getting up.

After washing up, she headed downstairs and realized that Cameron was sitting in the living room, sipping coffee and working on his laptop, although he should be in the office by now.
