Chapter 94
If it were not for meeting Cameron, Quinn might never have experienced being treated with such care. She raised her hand and said, “I’m sorry, I messed up. I’ll be more careful from now on and won’t fall for other people’s traps again.”
“That’s not good enough,” Cameron replied. This kind of constant chution was too exhausting and didn’t align with his strategy for dealing with opponents.
“Huh? What else can we do?” Quinn was at a loss, as she was completely inexperienced in dealing with conflicts like this.
“Go for the source of the problem,” Cameron uttered calmly. Then, he picked up his phone from the coffee table and started making calls.
As Quinn sat on his lap, his words echoed in her mind. For some reason, she felt a strange sense of awe rising within her. At the same time, she secretly felt relieved that she was his woman and not his enemy.
At Jakeman Estate, the day after the engagement party, Zoe had just woken up and was heading downstairs for lunch. She spotted Luna sitting on the living room couch, leisurely sipping tea while waiting for her meal.
“What are you doing here? Didn’t I tell you not to come to the main house?” Zoe glared at Luna arrogantly as she approached.
Luna was already used to Zoe’s attitude and was not upset. She simply turned her head away, ignoring Zoe. However, her reaction only made the latter angrier.
Zoe raised her voice, shouting, “Luna Sinclair, are you deaf? I’m talking to you! Who allowed you in here?”
“Oh my, were you talking to me? I thought some rude brat was yelling. It turns out it’s our little princess,” Luna mocked, finally turning to face Zoe with an exaggerated expression.
“Who are you calling rude?” Zoe had not expected Luna to talk back to her like this and was instantly furious.
“If you don’t know who’s lacking manners, perhaps you should look in the mirror. Is this how you show your respect to your elders?”
“Respect? You don’t deserve that, you shameless homewrecker. Get out of my house right now!” Zoe yelled, reaching to shove her out.
“What’s all the noise? It’s the middle of the day, and all I hear is yelling. It’s driving me crazy,” David grumbled as he walked in from outside. His expression was gloomy, and he looked extremely irritated.
“Dad, this bitch came into the main house without my permission and called me rude. You should divorce her and kick her out right now!” Zoe immediately ran to David, convinced she had his support.
But Luna remained unmoved. She sat calmly on the couch and continued sipping her tea.
“Kick her out? You’re the one who should be kicked out, you good-for-nothing brat. Do you have any idea how much trouble you’ve caused me this time?” David immediately started scolding.
David had never spoken to her that way, and Zoe’s face turned pale with a mix of hurt and anger. “Dad, what are you saying? Why are you suddenly calling me a good-for-nothing brat? What trouble did I cause!”
“Ch, Zoe, are you really that clueless?” Losa chimed in from the side, adding fuel to the fire. “Don’t you know your dad’s been running around trying to smooth things over with the Suttons because of you? He hasn’t had a proper rest in days.”
She added, “Oh, right, I forgot. You’ve been too busy partying with your friends to notice his troubles.”
“Shut up! You have no right to speak here,” Zoe said as she glared at Luna fiercely. “Besides, this is all because of your shameless daughter. If it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t have offended Zayne in the first place!”
