Chapter 59

Noelle was shocked by the reply. She messaged, “Are you his younger brother?”

Magnus struggled to his feet, hands trembling as he typed, “Yeah. I’m his adorable, obedient, and incredibly talented younger brother! Anyway, when did he get himself a disciple? Why don’t I know about this?” He wondered if the girl from the Liddell family was indeed Cedric’s disciple.

He asked, “Are you Noelle Liddell?”

“Yes, I am. Has Cedric talked about me before?” replied Noelle. She hadn’t expected Cedric’s brother to know about her.

Magnus was so shocked he muttered a string of curses. His hands still trembling, he called Cedric.

Cedric answered instantly. “What’s wrong, Magnus?” He was in his study, rubbing his temples as he closed a program window.

Magnus complained, “It’s not fair, Cedric! You secretly took Noelle as your disciple and taught her the 12-hit combo! You never taught me that! Am I even your brother? I must have been adopted! Boohoo!”

Cedric tensed. “How do you know that?”

“I logged into your account, and she was looking for you. We talked, and she told me!”

Only then did Cedric notice Noelle’s messages.

“Log out of my account now!” said Cedric.

“You haven’t told me why you taught her the 12-hit combo! She’s my opponent in the tournament!”

Cedric’s tone was stern. “She learned it herself! I’m giving you three seconds. Log out now!”

Magnus memorized Noelle’s username before reluctantly logging out. Why are you panicking so much, Cedric? Is she your new girlfriend? Don’t worry, I fully support your decision to pursue true love instead of an arranged marriage!”

“Shut it. What did you say to her?”

“I only told her I’m your younger brother.”

Cedric hung up and logged back into the game to find Noelle online.

Chapter 59 2/3

He had genuinely panicked. For a split second, he thought Noelle had figured out his identity. Cedric stared at Noelle’s online status, doing nothing.

Noelle was confused by Cedric’s account logging off and on. She wondered if his account had been hacked, but decided nobody would hack an alternate account.

She messaged Cedric on WhatsApp. “I think someone logged onto your account. Were you hacked?”

Cedric read the message and invited Noelle to his party. He explained, “It was someone else.”

Noelle replied, “Your younger brother? That’s what he told me. I thought you were hacked.”

“Don’t worry. I wasn’t hacked. Don’t worry about him.”

Noelle didn’t probe further. As they ran dungeons, she said, “Team Celestial’s captain invited me to join their team!”

Cedric frowned. “When did that happen?” He wondered if Magnus was causing trouble.

She replied, “Just now. I was surprised. Their captain publicly taunted Lucas.”

Cedric opened the game’s news update and saw the announcement. He calmly replied, “There’s no need to take it seriously.”

“Of course not. Team Celestial is a solid team. They’ll probably make it into the national team someday.”

Cedric instinctively replied, “You’re not bad yourself.”

Noelle’s eyes widened as he awkwardly turned his head. He continued, “With my help, you’ll become the best player ever.” His tone was arrogant.

Noelle smiled. “I’d like to join the national team. It’d make our country proud.” She hadn’t had the opportunity in her previous life, as Xenia had taken the spot.

Cedric calmly replied, “It will be easy for you. But for now, we’ll think about it after your exams.”

Chapter 59 11 B

Noelle logged off after they finished running dungeons. Cedric immediately called Magnus. “You’re finally calling! I’ve been dying to know about your relationship with your disciple!”

“First, you must not tell anyone, especially our family.”

Magnus straightened. “Of course. I would never sell you out!”

“Second, Noelle doesn’t know who I am yet, so we can’t leak my identity.”

“Of course. There are too many gold diggers! You can only build a normal relationship by hiding your identity. But I gotta ask, is my future sister-in-law underage? Cedric! Are you going for a minor?”
