Chapter 77
Noelle looked determined. Xenia’s use of the word "Noodle" increased. After all, the streamer sounded very similar to Noelle. So much so that they seemed like the same person!
However, she didn’t want to admit that Noelle was actually the streamer. She doubted Noelle was that impressive.
Betry mocked loudly, “Noelle, stop acting like you’re all that. The streamer didn’t even show her face. It’s just a coincidence that you both sound alike. Stop flattering yourself!”
Sophia stood up for Noelle, saying, “Noelle is great too. She achieved a twelve-hit combo and won the repechage!”
Exactly! Someone here dragged the whole team down in the repechage. If it weren’t for Noelle, you wouldn’t have won!
“Yeah. Xenia, you’re just jealous that Noelle is more skilled than you!”
Xenia’s eyes immediately reddened. The boys in the class immediately started defending Xenia. “Noelle, you’re making Xenia cry. Apologize right now!”
Noelle looked unfazed. “It’s true that she can’t play.”
Xenia wasn’t going to take it. She looked pitiful and said, “Stop arguing, everyone. It’s true that I’m not that skilled. No matter how hard I try, I can’t catch up to Noelle. But I’m not jealous of her. Instead, I’m happy for her.”
Noelle smirked coldly. “At least you know your place. Keep working harder from now on.”
Xenia was taken aback. She didn’t expect Noelle to take advantage of the situation. But the boys continued defending Xenia. “Noelle, you’re just slightly better at gaming. That doesn’t mean you can show off like that.”
“Yeah, you made Xenia cry. You should apologize to her.”
Noelle’s smile froze. “Who are you to talk to me like this?”
“Noelle, you’re going too far!”
Sophia stood next to Noelle, looking at the boys. “Stop standing up for Xenia. All she does is cry whenever something is wrong, always looking pitiful. It’s so annoying!”
“I know, right? Just use your words. Do you think crying can help justify yourself!”
The girls in the class couldn’t stand Xenia’s theatrics. Every time she started crying, she would be forgiven for her actions. The girls had had a problem with Xenia for a long time.
Xenia cried even more after being criticized. Her weeping in front of the boys made them feel bad for her.
Noelle grabbed her things and left the classroom. She refused to waste any more time there, and she didn’t want to see anyone from the Liddell family, including Xenia.
Sophia caught up to her and said, “Noelle, don’t let what Xenia says affect what you want to do. We’re all your fans, and we will support you.”
Noelle sensed that Sophia and the others already knew that she was SweetNelly. She smiled shyly. “I mean, it’s not that I don’t want to say it…”
“You don’t need to explain anything to us. We know. It’s just in case some bitches get jealous of your big fan base and try to stir up some drama.” Xenia was a petty person. If she knew that Noelle was the now-popular streamer, she would certainly start crying again. Noelle found it utterly grating. She sighed in relief. “Thank you for understanding.”
“Noelle, you finally showed up. I thought you were going to avoid us forever.”
Lucas was waiting at the school gate. He saw a familiar figure on the field and knew it was Noelle. For the past few days, Noelle hadn’t answered any phone calls or replied to any texts. Worse, she had blocked Lucas’ number. Thinking about that made Lucas angry.
When Noelle saw Lucas, her expression became cold. She looked at Sophia and the others and said, “I’m going now. See you…”
She turned around and walked out of the school. She planned to ignore Lucas.
Lucas grew even angrier. “Noelle, stop right there! Frank was so angry that he was hospitalized for a few days. We couldn’t get a hold of you. Ever since you were young, Frank treated you the best. Now Frank is sick, you won’t even go see him!”
Noelle was surprised to hear that Frank had fallen ill.
