A little later, York handed Freya the binoculars, enthusiastically recommending, “Sister-in-law, come see my idol! Number 38! The one in the red racing suit! Super hot and wild!”
Freya wasn't interested in racing, but seeing York's excitement and unable to refuse, she reluctantly accepted the binoculars. She took a quick look, then froze. Raven. CC was actually Raven? Freya had heard Raven was skilled in various extreme sports, but she didn't know she also excelled at racing, and captivated so many admirers.
Raven wore a dark red, form-fitting racing suit. Her tall figure and curvaceous form were both graceful and elegant, wild yet glamorous—she was incredibly eye-catching.
Freya adjusted her camera lens and accidentally glanced toward the opposite stands. There, she saw Matteo, seemingly stunned by Raven, watching intently. Freya's grip on the binoculars tightened.
The race was about to begin. York quickly retrieved the binoculars. Freya's gaze lingered on Matteo for a moment. Besides Matteo, their daughter, Isabella, and several of Matteo's closest friends were also present, clearly there to cheer for Raven.
Several race cars sped past, vanishing in a blur, eliciting a chorus of screams. York grabbed the binoculars, observed for a while, then shoved them back into Freya’s hands. “Sister-in-law, look! My idol drives so boldly yet skillfully! She’s super cool! You have to see this!”
Freya took the binoculars, found Raven, and witnessed a risky yet perfectly timed maneuver as Raven overtook another racer at an extreme curve. The crowd gasped in amazement at her daring move. Freya, who had never paid attention to racing before, was stunned by Raven's boldness.
She stood still for a long time, understanding why Matteo would be so captivated. Even Matteo, usually calm and aloof, showed clear astonishment and admiration. Isabella and Levi even jumped out of their seats with excitement. The race reached its climax. York again took the binoculars.
It seemed he was so focused on Raven that he hadn't noticed Matteo and the others. The race paused briefly; Raven was in first place. Freya asked York for the binoculars.
York was thrilled. “Sister-in-law, you’re hooked on my idol too, right?! I knew it—no one can resist her! Man or woman, you'll fall for her!”
Freya lowered her gaze and smiled, but didn't respond. She wanted to call Matteo. She wondered how he'd react—likely hanging up the moment he saw her call, as he always did. Considering this, she felt the call was pointless. Yet, she decided to make it one last time.
With that in mind, Freya dialed Matteo's number before picking up the binoculars. She saw Matteo hang up without hesitation upon seeing her call, then return his gaze to Raven, his eyes entirely focused on her. Freya took a deep breath, smiled faintly, and calmly handed the binoculars back to York. She didn't watch the rest of the race or pay attention to Matteo.
Raven won the race. York was ecstatic, eager to get Raven's autograph, along with his friends. One friend mentioned that Raven was a wealthy heiress and PhD from a prestigious university, racing being a mere hobby; she rarely signed autographs. Another friend sighed that, even at this private race, they had no way to reach her. They learned later that Raven had already left with friends to celebrate.
Stella had called to hurry Freya, so she declined York’s invitation to hang out with his friends and prepared to leave with him. Before departing, Freya went to the restroom. Coming out, she ran into someone.
