Chapter 100: Danger
The bodyguardโs attention was fully on Alice in the back seat, completely unaware that Olivia had quietly moved to the driverโs side after stepping out of the car. Olivia yanked the door open, startling the bodyguard. โMs. Carter, what are youโฆ?โ Before he could finish, Oliviaโs fist smashed into his nose! A sickening crack echoed as the bridge of his nose broke, and the bodyguard let out a howl of pain. โYou crazy woman! Are you looking for death?โ
Clutching his bleeding nose, the bodyguard dropped all pretense and lunged at Olivia. But Olivia grabbed his arm and executed a flawless over-the-shoulder throw, slamming him out of the driverโs seat and onto the ground. Alice, who had been dozing off in the back seat, was startled awake by Oliviaโs sudden outburst.
โYour bodyguard and the people in the car behind us are working together. Theyโre trying to kidnap you,โ Olivia said quickly. โLock the doors and donโt come out. Call the police immediately and contact your parents. Send them your location!โ Olivia handed her phone to Alice, then slammed the car door shut. The bodyguardโs accomplices were nearly upon them. With the car keys still in his pocket, there wasnโt enough time for Olivia to get the car started and drive away.
Panicked, Alice clutched the phone, her eight-year-old mind overwhelmed with fear. Outside, the bodyguard scrambled to his feet, glaring at Olivia with disbelief as he heard her words. โHow do you know weโre planning to kidnap her, you nosy bitch?โ Hearing this, Alice trembled uncontrollably in the car. They really were trying to kidnap me? Her mind went blank, but instinctively, she followed Oliviaโs instructions, calling the police.
The bodyguard, realizing what Alice was doing, ignored Olivia and rushed to yank the car door open. But Olivia kicked at his chest, sending him flying backward again! Before he could recover, she darted forward and delivered a sharp kick to his head, knocking him back to the ground. Taking advantage of the moment, Olivia snatched the car keys from his pocket.
โIโve already called the police! Hurry and get in the car, Olivia!โ Alice shouted through the window, pounding on it in desperation as the gravity of the situation dawned on her. But just as she finished speaking, the accomplicesโ car screeched to a halt right in front of them. Oliviaโs eyes squinted.
The area was desolate, and even though Alice had called the police, it would take at least half an hour for them to arrive. If she stayed in the car with Alice, they would be sitting ducks. Half an hour was more than enough time for the kidnappers to take them and the car away.
Olivia took a deep breath and slowly rolled up her sleeves, locking the car doors with the keys. Seeing this, Alice became even more frightened, helplessly slapping the window. The remaining accomplices, five burly men in their thirties, stepped out of their car. When they saw theirโฆ
โฆhad been tailing her and Alice all day and knew she was traveling with the girl. She was supposed to be just an extra hostage, but now she had become an unexpected complication.
โLittle girl, youโve got guts walking into hell when thereโs a way to heaven,โ one of the men sneered, sizing her up. They had guessed she might have some fighting skills; otherwise, the bodyguard wouldnโt have been taken down. Butโฆ a petite young woman like her? No matter how skilled she was, there was no way she could take on five grown men.
โShe doesnโt look like a rich kid. Letโs just kill her and not waste time,โ another man said coldly.
