Chapter 171: She Is Not The One

Due to the added screen time, Olivia’s pay for her part in A Little Spark of Joy was adjusted accordingly. She had returned to the company to make adjustments to her contract, and from a distance, she caught sight of Daniel leading a middle-aged man into the conference room.

“The production of Mr. Tobie’s latest variety show is about to begin, am I right? It’s a highly anticipated one; I know many viewers are looking forward to it,” Daniel said, his face full of smiles as he followed the middle-aged man.

Jared shot a glance at Daniel, then whispered to Olivia, “That man next to Daniel is Tobie Adcock’s assistant. Rumor has it that he’s at our company today to invite the talents under our company to join Mr. Tobie’s latest variety show, With You, Under The Sky.”

The arrival of Tobie’s assistant shook the entire company. Daniel was not the only one following him closely; many other agents swarmed around him, seizing every opportunity to promote their talents.

“Olivia, how about… we go over and try our luck?” Jared suggested.

Unfazed, Olivia replied nonchalantly, “That won’t be necessary.”

“You’re not interested in being in it?” Jared asked, puzzled.

Olivia simply signed the new contract and sent it right into Jared’s arms.

“Nope.”

Jared froze in surprise at her reply.

“Why not? Mr. Tobie is well known throughout the country for his variety shows; all of them received great response upon airing.”

Olivia shot a look at Jared, then said, “What’s so good about a show that nearly got someone killed?”

With You, Under The Sky was indeed highly popular when it first aired, but a terrible accident happened in an episode towards the end, which nearly took the life of an artiste who participated in it.

Jared was speechless at that statement.

“Don’t just stand around there, hurry up and deliver the contract,” Olivia nudged him.

Jared held the signed contract in his hands, confusion written all over his face. Completely unable to understand why Olivia would say such a thing about a show that had not even aired.

“Please, have a seat,” Daniel said to Tobie’s assistant with smiles all over his face, after leading him into the conference room.

The assistant pulled over a chair and sat in it.

“Mr. Tobie sent me here today to invite the talents of your team to participate in the shooting of the first…”

The other agents were instantly filled with disappointment, and all shot an envious look at Daniel.

Upon hearing those words, Daniel was unable to contain his joy and excitement.

Willow managed to catch Mr. Tobie’s attention? As expected of her! I knew I saw something in her back then!

Under the envious eyes of his peers, he immediately nodded, full of smiles, saying, “Certainly, I’ll introduce her to you right away.”

The assistant continued, “Mr. Tobie understands that she is currently busy with Mr. Jos’s latest film, but she has nothing to be worried about, as the shooting of our first episode would not take very long; four days is all that’s needed. It would not affect the progress of her work with Mr. Jos.”

Daniel replied with a smile, “No problem, she has basically done all of her scenes; nothing will be affected.” The assistant was puzzled. He clearly remembered hearing that Olivia had been given extra screen time, so how was it that she had already completed all of her scenes?

Daniel quickly ran out to get Willow.

The other agents all clenched their jaws enviously. They all knew that it was incredibly tough to secure a spot in Mr. Tobie’s show. Although Willow, from Daniel’s team, was gaining popularity, her status in the industry was definitely still too low to be invited to Mr. Tobie’s show.

Soon enough, Daniel returned to the conference room with Willow. Having heard that Mr. Tobie was personally inviting her to join his latest show, Willow was bursting with excitement and joy, so much so that she was almost skipping along the way.

“Nice to meet you, it’s an honor to receive Mr. Tobie’s invitation to be in his show, I promise to give it my all!” Willow said enthusiastically.

Mr. Tobie’s assistant looked at Willow, who was glowing with joy, and his brows furrowed.

“You’ve got the wrong person. She’s not the one Mr. Tobie requested for.”
