Chapter 175: A Full Show
Olivia arrived at the Devinly Hotel. She pushed open the doors of the private room, only to be greeted by a sea of flowers. The sweet scent filled her nostrils. Olivia was stunned.
"What's this?" she exclaimed. "What on earth is going on in here? Is Alexander still out of his mind?"
Alexander lifted his gaze to stare at the woman who was terribly late for their date. Olivia strode into the room, looking around at all the fancy flower arrangements, then plopped into a chair.
"You called grandpa for help?" Olivia questioned, looking directly at Alexander.
He lightly raised his eyebrows. "You got a problem with that?"
Olivia was speechless. She looked around the romantically decorated room once more, then muttered, "Why take this so seriously? It's all just an act."
Her words reached Alexander's ears, and his deep gaze narrowed instantly. "Those daily reminders of yours, were they all just an act as well?"
Olivia added a message to her long trail of daily messages, never stopping for a single day; it was as if she were clocking into work. Olivia failed to notice the danger lurking in Alexander's gaze.
"Of course," she replied.
Alexander's expression darkened instantly. He stared intently at the woman who brought him great frustration, silently wishing to strangle her. Just an act? Everything she had done for the past few daysโwas it all just for show?
A cold smile formed across Alexander's face. He stared at Olivia's nonchalant expression as he slowly got up and walked towards her. Noticing Alexander suddenly walking towards her, Olivia froze for a moment.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
Alexander walked to her side, then bent down a little, his slender hand resting on the back of Olivia's chair. "Well, shall we act out a full show then?"
Olivia still had not grasped the situation.
Alexander scanned Olivia from head to toe, then with a sudden raise of his arm, he removed her glasses. Her bright, glimmering eyes were fully exposed; Alexander could clearly see his own reflection in them. This young lady had really been getting more and more audacious lately.
Olivia blinked. "Act? That's exactly what I'm good at!"
Olivia recalled Liam's words to her and immediately jumped to her feet. Alexander stood still, still unclear of her next move, only to be pressed into the chair in the next second.
"Let me show you how it's done," Olivia said to him, full of confidence. Completely ignoring the flash of surprise in Alexander's eyes, she grabbed the candelabra from the drawer by the side and placed it on the table.
Alexander sat in the chair as he watched Olivia flutter like a butterfly around the room. Soon enough, she collected a handful of flowers and placed them on the table. She lit the candles, then began touching up the room's decorations. After that, she pulled a chair and sat down beside Alexander.
"What are you doing?" Alexander furrowed his brows as he watched Olivia bustling in the room.
Olivia simply blinked and held Alexander's hand. Alexander was completely caught by surprise. Their fingers were entwined; Olivia's soft hand looked so small in his. His tanned complexion accentuated the brightness of her fair, white skin.
"Relax, leave your body to me," Olivia instructed.
Alexander stayed silent, doing as he was told. What is she even saying? Sounds pretty weird.
Olivia, with an air of confidence, grabbed his hand and positioned their hands on the table she had scattered with petals. Under the faint, romantic glow of the candlelight, Olivia pulled out her phone and snapped a photo of their interlocked fingers.
It was only until Olivia took the image of their interlocked fingers that Alexander finally understood what she was up to. In that instant, Alexander had no words for her.
