Chapter 210: A Horror Film +8 Pearls
The six of you are couriers from three escort agencies. Your mission is to transport 100 pieces of gold. Along your route, you will pass through an ancient town. A hundred years ago, a plague wiped out all the residents, and their restless ghosts remain trapped within. Your task is to survive three days in the ancient town. The team that brings out the most gold wins,โ the host explained with a cheerful smile.
After hearing the hostโs explanation, Franklin immediately asked, โWhat happens if weโre caught by the ghosts?โ
The host replied, โAnyone caught will be imprisoned. If both members of a team are caught, your mission is a total failure. However, you can rescue your teammate if theyโre captured. Many exorcists have ventured into the town before and left magic tools behind. If you can retrieve these magic tools, you can free your teammate. Some magic tools can even protect you from being harmed by the ghosts.โ
At this point, the host seemed to recall something and deliberately glanced at Olivia.
โIn addition, thereโs a shop in the ancient town run by an old man. He also has magic tools, but youโll need to use gold to purchase them.โ
Shawn commented, โWhy do I feel like this shop is targeting a certain someone?โ
Are they taking Oliviaโs path to leave her no path?
Olivia smirked. How naive!
โCan I fight the staff playing ghosts to get magic tools?โ Olivia asked.
The host, as if anticipating this question, responded, โOf course, but only if you can beat them. A kind reminder: the ghosts in this town were specifically recruited from a certain military academy.โ
Louis and the others, who had initially felt confident in their physical abilities, were instantly deflated.
Military academy? Could the production team be any more ruthless? Who could possibly win against that?
From the moment she heard the word โghosts,โ Jocelyn had been trembling.
Her teammate Franklin, however, seized the chance to showcase his bravery. โDonโt worry. The ghosts are just staff members in costume. Nothing to be scared of.โ
โExactly. At the end of the day, itโs all fake. Theyโll chase us at most, but itโs not like theyโll actually scare us,โ Shawn chimed in.
Haunted houses arenโt exactly new. How scary could it really be?
The host, blocking any remaining escape routes, announced, โNow, please put on your blindfolds. We will transport you to the ancient town.โ
Soon, the six of them were blindfolded and packed into three vehicles, heading toward the location.
Nearly an hour later, they arrived.
Once the participants were dropped off, the staff instructed them to count to 100 before removing their blindfolds.
Shawn finished counting first. The moment he removed his blindfold, he was greeted by a pair of bloodshot eyes staring straight at him in the dim light.
A female ghost with disheveled hair, dressed in a blood-red gown, hung upside down from the beams by chains. Her face was a mess of blood and flesh, with maggot-like creatures writhing in the decayed tissue. Her long, damp hair brushed Shawnโs face as her inverted head dangled close to himโฆ
One glance was all it took. Shawn let out a terrified scream and fell flat on his backside. โOh my goodness! Ah! No!โ
What the hell! They said it wouldnโt be scary!
Meanwhile, the viewers watching the livestream were equally stunned.
The ghostโs design, captured on camera, looked so realistic it could have stepped straight out of a horror movie.
โDamn you, production team! Couldnโt you have added a jump-scare warning?โ
โThe production team should just start making horror movies at this point!โ
โThe ghost might not be real, but the production team is seriously evil!โ
โIt feels like weโve been transported straight into a horror film.โ
