Chapter 412: He Dares

On the way back to the Kenneth family home, Paul looked at Brodyโ€™s profile.

โ€œDidnโ€™t Grandpa say he wasnโ€™t planning to attend the Moore familyโ€™s birthday banquet anymore? Going back to persuade him now probably wonโ€™t work, right?โ€

Walden was very stubborn. Once he made up his mind, nothing could pull him back.

Brody replied, โ€œThis birthday banquet at the Moore familyโ€™s is the best opportunity for Livi and Grandpa to meet. I havenโ€™t found the right time before, but I donโ€™t want to miss this one. Even if Grandpa doesnโ€™t plan to go, we need to find a way to coax him into going.โ€

Paul groaned and leaned back in his chair. Trying to change Waldenโ€™s mind was almost like trying to ascend to heaven for them. Brody was also aware of the difficulty of the situation and racked his brain for a solution.

โ€œI remember, didnโ€™t the butler mention that the Moore family had called Grandpa a while ago?โ€

Brody replied, โ€œThat seems to be the case, and they even asked about Liliana, didnโ€™t they?โ€

Yes, when Brody handed the invitation to Walden, the butler saw it and mentioned it in passing. At first, Brody didnโ€™t pay much attention, but nowโ€ฆ He suddenly had a bold idea.

Inside Waldenโ€™s study, he was diligently wiping his wifeโ€™s picture frame with a silk handkerchief. More than twenty years had passed since they had been apart, and that picture frame had been on Waldenโ€™s desk for over twenty years, treasured and wiped daily. If it werenโ€™t for Andres worrying about their father grieving daily over the photo of their deceased mother, they would have moved the photo of Gianna from the bedroom to the study. Walden would have hung it from the bedroom wall all the way to the ceiling.

โ€œGrandpa, Iโ€™ve found out something,โ€ Brody said, looking at Walden.

Walden replied, โ€œDonโ€™t beat around the bush, talk.โ€

Brody said, โ€œBenjamin from the Moore family seems to be interested in Liliana.โ€

Waldenโ€™s hand holding the silk handkerchief paused abruptly. He instinctively wanted to slam his fist on the desk but realized he was holding his beloved wifeโ€™s picture frame and carefully set it back in place. Then, he grabbed a nearby crystal statue and smashed it hard on the floor!

โ€œThe young bastard from the Moore family, does he think heโ€™s invincible? Daring to set his sights on my granddaughter?โ€

It was fortunate that Brody had thought of this tactic.

Brody continued, โ€œGrandpa, think about it. The Moore family has always been at odds with us. How many times have we clashed before? The economic losses are enough to buy a small island. When has the Moore family ever sent us an invitation to a birthday banquet before? This sudden change of attitude from the Moore family, not only sending us an invitation but also having it delivered by a senior executive to show sincerity, donโ€™t you find it strange, Grandpa?โ€

Walden frowned slightly. The change in the Moore familyโ€™s attitude did indeed puzzle him. Both being cunning people over fifty, he knew very well that Daxton could never reconcile with him in this lifetime. The events of the past had led to an irreconcilable conflict between the two. Yet, just recently, the Moore family had called to inquire about Liliana, and now they had directly sent the birthday banquet invitation to his desk. To say there wasnโ€™t some scheming behind the Moore familyโ€™s actions, Walden would never believe it.

โ€œHe dares! Iโ€™ll teach that Moore family brat a damn lesson!โ€
