Chapter 90: Public Humiliation is So Awkward

Claire knew Sophia, and like many other girls, she couldn’t stand women like Sophia who schemed and manipulated. But she never expected that the person Hudson was looking for might actually be Sophia!

Seeing Sophia’s fake, annoying expression, Claire’s face darkened slightly. Sophia didn’t miss Claire’s reaction, feeling a surge of smug satisfaction. So what if you’re the campus beauty? Even you can’t win Hudson’s favor. Knowing she had one-upped Claire, Sophia felt even more pleased. Wanting to flaunt her charm in front of Olivia, she stepped forward gracefully, as if awaiting Hudson to approach her.

Hudson smiled warmly as he walked toward the trio. Claire’s face grew darker, while Sophia’s sweet smile made her seem like a victorious queen. “Hud–” Sophia stepped forward to greet Hudson and was just about to speak when… Hudson walked straight past her, heading directly to Olivia.

“Starting today, we’re classmates,” Hudson said, stopping in front of Olivia. He extended his hand, his face gentle with a warm smile. Everyone present was stunned. Sophia froze on the spot, her signature smile cracking slightly.

What’s going on? Hudson came for Olivia? But… didn’t Olivia say she didn’t know Hudson? Watching Hudson smile at Olivia, Sophia’s face burned with embarrassment. Her earlier actions now felt utterly ridiculous, as if she’d been nothing more than a clown.

Claire, equally shocked, thought Hudson must have been fooled by Sophia’s “Miss Pure and Perfect” act. But she never imagined… Hudson wasn’t looking for Sophia but the plain-looking, unimpressive girl standing next to her! This was even more infuriating to Claire than Hudson choosing Sophia. At least Sophia had the looks, but why would Hudson give so much attention to her?

Olivia glanced at Hudson’s outstretched hand. “I have a cold.” Hudson paused, slightly taken aback. “If you don’t want to catch it, stay away from me,” Olivia added. All she wanted right now was to get some peace and sleep.

Only then did Hudson notice Olivia’s pale complexion. “Did you take any medicine? Should I take you to the hospital?” No wonder she hadn’t been in the classroom earlier. Off to the side, Lucas, who had been thoroughly ignored, cleared his throat. “No need. I’ll take Olivia to the hospital!” No way am I giving him the chance to get close to her!

“Oh. Mr. Thompson is here too?” Hudson said, raising a brow as if only now noticing Lucas. Lucas thought, This guy seriously knows how to push buttons. “You seem to have vision problems. I happen to know a great ophthalmologist – I’ll refer you,” Lucas replied with a cold smile.

Hudson shot back, “Mr. Thompson, if you’re familiar with hospitals, maybe you should check yourself in first.” “You little–” Seeing the two about to start arguing, Olivia raised a hand between them. “Stop! You can argue all you want, but can you get out of my way first? I’ve got things to do.”

The stock market was about to go wild, and Olivia needed to use the money she’d won yesterday to buy more shares. A $140 million breach of contract fee isn’t a small amount. No one messes with my finances! “Where are you going? I’ll take you,” Hudson offered without sparing Lucas another glance. “No need. I’ll drive myself,” Olivia replied.

“You’re sure you can even drive in your condition?” Lucas frowned. To him, Olivia looked like she was struggling just to walk. Olivia thought, He’s got a point. Maybe I can’t.
