Chapter 81

If gravity didn't exist, Baphine's hat would definitely be standing on end. She thought she'd deliver a killing blow, forcing Yvonne Howen to quit the university this time. Then, she could finally stop being provoked by Yvonne. However, Wilson had managed to turn the tide for Yvonne in just a few days, infuriating Daphne.

Daphne had already accepted that Yvonne had bewitched Wilson with her manipulative tricks. This time, however, Daphne had video proof of Yvonne's true nature, enough to expose her evil. Yet, Wilson was still protecting Yvonne, something Daphne couldn't understand.

She repeatedly called him, ready to confront him. All her calls were ignored, so she decided to call Jackie Peat.

Jackie had always supported Yvonne and her relationship with Wilson. That's why Yvonne and Wilson had been together for a year right under Daphne's nose.

When Daphne called Jackie, she worried he wouldn't answer. However, he happily told her that Wilson was with Yvonne at the hospital, likely gloating, and emphasized Wilson's personal presence.

Daphne was very familiar with that hospital. As Mrs. Farrell, she had been treated there whenever she was ill. It was a private hospital that didn't accept outside patients.

The environment was excellent, and the staff treated Daphne well. However, after her divorce, she wasn't even worthy of a consultation. Seeing the hospital only fueled her frustration.

Filled with rage, Daphne found Yvonne's ward, ignoring everyone who stared curiously at her.

She was surprised to find that Wilson hadn't put Yvonne in the best ward. When Daphne was ill, he always had. She wondered if he avoided that ward because Daphne had stayed there before, perhaps to prevent Yvonne from feeling aggrieved.

When Daphne reached for the door handle, she saw Wilson patiently feeding Yvonne from a bowl. The sight was disgusting.

Daphne was stunned, a flood of memories washing over her. She couldn't remember the last time he'd been so gentle with her. If she recalled correctly, it was when they first started dating.

It was an extremely cold winter. He was walking her home, and she'd buried her hands in his pockets. Passing a pie stall, she'd said coyly, "Those pies look delicious, but I really don't want my hands to get cold…"

Wilson understood and playfully rubbed her nose. After buying a slice of pie, he carefully fed it to her.

At that moment, Daphne felt like the luckiest woman in the world, and Wilson the best boyfriend. He was dashing, gentle, thoughtful, and romantic. Overwhelmed by these memories, she fell into a daze.

She shook her head, dismissing the bittersweet thoughts. She felt crazy for reminiscing while Wilson was with someone else.

Composing herself, she leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed. "Is your brain full of shit, Wilson? Or have you lost your mind after cheating on me? The video evidence is right in front of you, yet you still think that bitch is innocent!"
