Chapter 332: Do Not Let Me See You Again

Since she had no idea where to find him, she went directly to Wesley's house. In short order, she arrived at the Gilbert Manor and pounded aggressively on the door. โ€œWesley, come out now! Be a man and show yourself!โ€

She waited, but received no response. Her irritation grew. What the hell's going on? Where on earth did he go?

At that moment, Wesley's neighbor returned home. Seeing Madelyn pounding on the door, he approached and said, โ€œYoung lady, save it. Mr. Gilbert is definitely not home at this hour. His butler's on vacation, too. No one's home.โ€

Madelyn was taken aback. โ€œDo you happen to know where Mr. Gilbert has gone?โ€ The neighbor shook his head. โ€œHow would I know his whereabouts?โ€

After a pause, he added, โ€œBut Mr. Gilbert seems to be in a rather foul mood these past couple of days. He comes home drunk almost every night. You can even smell the alcohol from a distance.โ€

So, heโ€™s out for a drink? Instantly, she had an ideaโ€”the same club where Wesley had messaged her last time, asking her to pick him up. If Iโ€™m not mistaken, heโ€™s definitely there.

She thanked the neighbor. โ€œThank you.โ€ โ€œYouโ€™re welcome.โ€ He smiled and watched as Madelyn hailed a taxi and hurried away.

Soon after, she reached Elite Club. After getting out of the car, she headed inside and scanned the crowd. Sure enough, she spotted Wesley sitting in a corner. His table was filled with alcoholic beverages. Without a doubt, he was about to get intoxicated.

Madelyn immediately rushed over. โ€œWesley Gilbert, I knew Iโ€™d find you here.โ€

โ€œWhy are you here?โ€ Wesley asked, surprised. He hadn't expected Madelyn. His expression turned sour. โ€œI own this club, so youโ€™d better leave now. Youโ€™re not welcome here.โ€

Wesley immediately sprang to his feet. โ€œMadelyn, you calling me a coward?โ€

โ€œYou, of course!โ€ She glared at him. โ€œYou pushed Harriet to Sebastian when you couldnโ€™t win her over yourself and played the victim. What a joke! Forgive my frankness, Wesley, but has Sebastian ever treated you poorly all these years? Heโ€™s always valued you, treating you as his right-hand man, his best friend. But what about you? Look at what youโ€™ve done! Do you think everyone else is blind? Youโ€™ve been imposing your views on Sebastian, and he never said anything. Now that heโ€™s going against your wishes, you went off the grid and stopped showing up at work. Hah, donโ€™t you think youโ€™re being a bit too childish?โ€

Madelyn ranted in one breath. Wesley, already in a bad mood, was even more irked by her words. Finally, he roared, โ€œAre you f*cking done?โ€

Madelyn scoffed. โ€œNot at all. What, canโ€™t stand me? Why donโ€™t you hit me?โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t think I wonโ€™t!โ€ Livid, Wesley raised his hand, his eyes wide with fury. However, his hand paused in mid-air. Thoughts raced through his mind, and he suppressed his anger, lowering his hand and growling, โ€œI never hit women, let alone someone like you. I wouldnโ€™t want to sully my hands by touching you. Get away from me now and donโ€™t let me see you again!โ€

Madelyn chuckled. โ€œYou think Iโ€™d sully your hands? What a joke! Iโ€™d say youโ€™re the one dirtying my eyes! I only realized today that Iโ€™ve been overestimating you. Even though we disagreed in the past, I always thought you were decent and loyal to your friends. Hence, I never spoke ill of you to Sebastian. But what about you? Donโ€™t think Iโ€™m unaware of the bad things youโ€™ve said about me behind my back! I kept quiet to save you from humiliation, and I didnโ€™t want to drive a wedge between you and Sebastian. But now it seems, my worries were unnecessary. You call yourself a man, Wesley? Youโ€™re nothing more than a coward who runs away from problems! Fine, if youโ€™re reluctant to be friends with Sebastian, you might as well sever ties with him. Honestly, I think heโ€™d be better off without you. From now on, stay away from me!โ€

After yelling at him, Madelyn stormed off. Wesley was left speechless. He stood there, stunned, before slumping onto the couch.

Meanwhile, on the second floor, Hayden and Janessa watched. Entertained, Janessa said, โ€œSometimes what youโ€™re searching for comes to you when you least expect it.โ€

โ€œHayden, itโ€™s your time to shine,โ€ said Janessa, casting a flirtatious glance at him, a triumphant smile playing on her lips.

Grasping her meaning, Hayden smirked and beckoned his subordinates. โ€œFollow that woman and make sure you catch her.โ€

โ€œGot it!โ€ His subordinates nodded, giving chase.

Hayden called Josiah. โ€œJosiah, if you donโ€™t want your little lover to get into trouble, you better hurry over to Elite Club. If youโ€™re late, donโ€™t say I didnโ€™t warn you.โ€ After speaking, Hayden ended the call.

At that time, Josiah was at home, changing. He was confused upon receiving the call. My lover? Whoโ€™s that? Marilyn Monroe? Wait a minute. Why would Hayden call me out of the blue? Is he talking about Madelyn? Oh no!

Alarmed, Josiah widened his eyes. He grabbed a blue jacket and ran out of the house.
