Chapter 57

“Mr. Vatra,” a middle-aged man approached. “Uncle Samuel, Aunt Hannah, let me introduce Paul Lewis. He will be your butler from now on. If you need anything, just ask him.”

Samuel and Hannah exchanged glances. “A butler?” Hannah was bewildered.

“Yes, such a large house needs someone to manage it. Paul also has a team of servants under him. They will be responsible for the cleaning and your daily meals.”

Samuel immediately said, “Blake, isn’t this a bit excessive?”

“Not at all. Just relax. From now on, everything here belongs to Isabel and your family. You can manage it however you want. Don’t worry about the expenses. Paul will report everything to me.” Blake then asked Paul to arrange things for them.

Meanwhile, Hannah pulled Isabel aside. “Isabel, Blake really cares about you. He bought such a large house and even let our whole family move in. You really chose the right person!”

“Mom, I know,” Isabel replied calmly, thinking, This house was originally mine. Still, Blake was indeed rich.

At the Galvez family’s house in the northern suburbs, Alex, Jack, and Roy returned home to find the house completely empty.

“Oh no! Was our house robbed?” Alex asked suspiciously.

Jack looked around. “Even if it was robbed, they wouldn’t have taken everything! Even that broken chair is gone!”

Roy was worried and took out his phone. “I’ll call Mom and Dad. No one’s home!” He called, “Mom, where are you? Are you guys okay? Our house was robbed!”

Only then did Hannah remember that they had forgotten to inform their children, who were at work.

“Roy, we are fine. We moved. It was too rushed today, and we didn’t have time to notify you. Come over quickly. We are at Golden Villa.”

“Moved? Why didn’t we hear anything about this before?” Roy was shocked.

“It’s a long story. Just come over and join us for dinner.”

Roy and the others took a taxi to Golden Villa. “Jack, do you know about Golden Villa? What kind of place is that? It sounds very upscale,” Roy asked.

“I’ve heard of it. It’s a wealthy district.”

“When did our family become so rich?”

“Maybe it has something to do with Isabel and Blake,” Jack guessed. Otherwise, with their family’s circumstances, there was no way they’d move to such a wealthy place.

“Call Simon too. He’ll be wasting his time if he goes home and finds the place empty,” said Jack.

Soon, the trio arrived at Golden Villa. As they looked at the grand entrance, they exchanged glances.

“Is this the place?” Roy asked.

“I don’t know. Let’s call and check.”

At that moment, Paul came out. “Are you Mr. Alex, Mr. Jack, and Miss Roy?”

“Yes, and you are?”

“I am Paul Lewis, the butler here. You can call me Uncle Paul. Your parents are waiting for you. Please follow me.”

Roy was a little nervous; this was her first time in such a wealthy neighborhood. Alex looked around curiously, while Jack remained relatively calm.

Once inside, they were stunned by the surroundings. “It’s so big here! Do Mom and Dad really live here?” Alex asked.

“Stop asking, Alex. We’ll know once we talk to them later.” Jack was equally uncertain.

The house was enormous, like a palace. The trio wondered if their family could afford to live here. They recalled visiting the Galvez family’s mansion as children; it was huge, but this place far surpassed it.

“Alex, Jack, Roy, you’re back!” Hannah said happily.

“Mom, what’s going on!”

Hannah explained everything.

“Does that mean we’ll be living in this big house from now on!” Alex said happily.

“Yes, Alex,” Isabel found Alex’s childlike excitement adorable.

“But… Blake gave this house to Isabel. We…” Jack hesitated.

“What’s mine is yours too, Jack,” said Isabel. “We are a family, so don’t we deserve a good life? The others are all well-fed and well-clothed, so we should live a better life than them!”

“Yeah, Jack. Don’t think too much about it! Anyway, our family is thriving now. I like it here. It feels like a dream,” Roy chimed in.

Seeing everyone so happy, Jack didn’t say anything more. He had already planned with his team to start their own business next year and make a name for himself.

That evening, the family enjoyed their first meal in their new home, believing their lives would only get better.

At the Clyde family home…

After Roger’s death, the Clyde family suffered greatly. Calus and Rosy seemed to have aged considerably, their days filled with endless worries.

“It looks like our family is doomed,” Rosy sighed.

Chapter 58

Hardly anyone attended Roger’s funeral. Seeing the Clyde family’s decline, those who once curried favor now avoided them. The Clyde family had become much quieter. To make matters worse, the Swanson family mocked them for their misfortune, claiming association with the Clydes was a life sentence of doom. This infuriated Rosy.

“I heard that Blake has returned to the Yates family,” Rosy suddenly said, an idea forming. “Our only chance to rise again is through the Yates family.”

“But they have nothing to do with us,” replied Calus.

“They do. He was once Amelia’s fiancé. Isabel refused to call off the engagement back then, but we can talk to her parents. I bet they’ll agree if we offer them six hundred thousand.”

“Will this work?” Calus was uncertain.

“Definitely. After all, their family is poor. Don’t listen to what that rich uncle said last time. I doubt they will refuse us if we give them money. Let’s go to the Galvez family to talk about this now,” Rosy was unwilling to accept defeat.

The duo drove directly to the Galvez family home in the northern suburbs. “The road here is terrible. If it weren’t for Blake, I wouldn’t come to this hellhole. It’s so poor,” Rosy complained.
