Chapter 58

“Alright, enough talking. We’re almost there.”

Soon, the car stopped at the gate of the Calvez family home. As they got out of the car and saw the tightly shut door, Caius stepped forward and knocked a few times. However, no one answered.

“Why is no one home? Did we come at the wrong time?” Cams asked.

Rosy refused to give up. She had to switch fiancés today, no matter what.

“I’ll ask the neighbor.”

At that moment, Rosy spotted a villager passing by with a hoe.

“Hello, are you a neighbor of the Calvez family? Do you know where they are? Why aren’t they home?”

The woman glanced at them and replied, “They’ve already moved.”

“Moved? Where to?”

“Somewhere called Golden Villa. I don’t know much else. A lot of people came that day, and they just moved.”

After learning this, Rosy decided to go to Golden Villa with Caius.

“Let’s go to Golden Villa!”

Caius was puzzled. “Why would they move to Golden Villa? That’s a rich neighborhood. Can they even afford it?”

“Golden Villa is huge. There are places for poor people, too. After all, it’s a newly developed area. They certainly can’t afford a house there. Let’s go check it out,” Rosy said confidently.

Soon, they arrived at Golden Villa. Seeing the enormous door, they exchanged glances.

“Is this their home?” Caius asked incredulously.

“Let’s ask. I don’t know either,” Rosy said uncertainly.

After a while, Paul approached and asked who they were looking for.

“We’re looking for Samuel. We’re his friends. We heard they moved. Is this the place?” Caius asked.

“Yes,” Paul replied, opening the door for them.

Seeing his reaction, Rosy and Caius felt even more uncertain.

As they entered, they were shocked by the size of the place. Dumbfounded, they couldn’t comprehend how the Calvez family had become rich. They had even initially assumed the Calvez family were workers there. After all, they found it hard to believe such poor people could live in such a magnificent house. The Clyde family's house paled in comparison.

Samuel and Hannah, no longer needing to work, were quite bored in their large villa. Thus, they were pleased to see their friends had come to visit. However, it turned out to be Caius and Rosy.

“Why are you guys here?” Hannah asked coldly.

“Mr. and Mrs. Calvez, we’re here to discuss our children’s marriage. Although the children were swapped at birth, the original engagement remains. Thus, I believe the fiancés shouldn’t be changed,” Rosy said with a smile.

Hearing this, Samuel and Hannah were furious.

Chapter 38

They were told Amelia was married to the young master of the Swanson family. Now that Blake was healthy, they were trying the same trick again. This was ridiculous! Isabel, after all, deserved respect as much as Amelia.

“Mr. and Mrs. Clyde, please stop joking,” Samuel’s face darkened.

“Of course not. We’re not asking for free. How about this? We’ll give you six hundred thousand to let Blake marry Amelia. Amelia is the daughter you raised for eighteen years. Can’t you show her a little affection?”

In a flash, Samuel slammed his fists on the table. His face turned red with rage. If he hadn’t been in good health, he might have suffered a heart attack.

“You really have no shame! All you think about is Amelia. What about Isabel? She was raised by you for eighteen years, too! How could you be so heartless! First, Amelia stole our engagement; now, with things fallen apart, you’re after Isabel’s fiancé. Are you thieves? I wonder how Isabel survived eighteen years in your family. You must have treated her poorly. There’s no way we’re letting you use her. We won’t sell Blake for six million, let alone six hundred thousand. Get out!”

Caius and Rosy didn’t expect such a harsh scolding.

“How dare you? Who do you think you are? We’re offering you six hundred thousand out of goodwill. Initially, the Yates had their eyes on Amelia. You’re the ones who stole my daughter’s marriage!” Rosy yelled.

“Paul, see them out. Don’t let these two lunatics in again. We have no such friends!” Samuel ordered.

Paul escorted them out. The iron gate slammed shut.

“What were they thinking! Blake must have bought this house for them. How could these poor people afford this? Yet, they act so righteously while using someone else’s money!”

“That’s right. They have no manners at all. We tried to talk nicely, but they wouldn’t listen!”

The couple complained bitterly.

As Paul was about to go back inside, Rosy called out, “Wait, are you the housekeeper? Is this villa really Blake’s?”

Paul turned, glancing at them disdainfully. “Yes, but the owner on the property deed is Miss Isabel.”

Rosy was speechless, realizing Isabel’s good fortune. Then, she wondered why Blake hadn’t given Amelia a house.

Caius sighed regretfully. “Why didn’t we realize Blake Yates had such potential? If we’d kept him back then, we’d be enjoying all of this now!”

That evening, after Isabel returned, Hannah told her about the Clyde family’s visit. Isabel was relieved they’d been driven away.

“Dad, Mom, you did the right thing. There’s no need to be polite with people like them,” Isabel said.

“But we were afraid you’d be angry. After all, they were your foster parents. Was this too harsh?” Hannah hesitated.

Isabel knew they were kind, so their concern made sense. Then, she said softly, “To be honest, they didn’t treat me well. When I was three, they sent me to the countryside, so I’m not close to them. To others, I was their daughter, but in reality, I grew up in the countryside.”
