Chapter 118
Wyatt's expression darkened as he snapped back, "Sheโs a Gibson by blood. Why wouldnโt she have the right to come home? Evan's place is of use that you get to stay in this house. What's wrong with her being here!"
Gabrielโs face turned ugly after Wyattโs harsh words. โDad!โ
Abigail hadnโt expected Wyatt to be so brutal when he got angry.
โI came back specifically to stand up for Abby,โ Wyatt said, leading her further into the house. He stopped at the shoe cabinet and looked around, his voice dropping low. โWhy arenโt there any slippers for Abby in this house?โ
โShe moved out a long time ago,โ Bianca answered immediately, her eyes settling on Abigail standing behind Wyatt. She never expected Abigail would actually come back.
โShe took her own things. What Iโm asking is why you didnโt set up a proper closet for Abby.โ Wyattโs tone was sharp and demanding.
Gabriel frowned, โDad-โ
โDaniellaโs just an adopted daughter, but she has her own walk-in closet upstairs with enough shoes to wear a different pair every day. Why doesnโt Abby have any of that?โ
Wyatt grabbed an expensive sculpture from the entryway cabinet and hurled it at Gabrielโs feet. โWhat kind of parents are you?โ
The sculpture shattered into pieces, making Gabriel and Bianca jump. Even Daniella, whoโd been sitting on the couch, shot to her feet in shock. โGrandpa, Mom was going toโโ
โShut your mouth! When we are talking, you donโt get to interrupt.โ Wyattโs voice cut through her words like ice.
Daniellaโs eyes immediately filled with tears as she shrank back behind Bianca.
โDad, how could you talk to Dani like this? Donโt you care about our history at all?โ Biancaโs voice carried clear irritation.
โSheโs adopted, but she thinks sheโs actual Gibson blood. Iโm wondering why I should care about her.โ Wyattโs words were blunt.
Bianca started to argue back, but Gabriel stopped her. โLetโs get Abby some slippers first. Dad, is your health okay now?โ
โWhatโs that supposed to mean? Are you hoping somethingโs wrong with me?โ Wyatt shot back.
โLook at you. Ever since youโve been around Abby, youโve gotten so sharp-tongued.โ Gabriel shot a meaningful look at Bianca.
โAbby, we kept your old room just the way it was. Itโs getting late, so let me show you upstairs.โ Bianca stepped forward with a fake smile, trying to sound sweet as she reached for Abigailโs hand.
Abigail frowned and coldly pulled away from Biancaโs grasp.
Biancaโs hand hung awkwardly in midair, and she forced out another smile while looking helplessly at Wyatt.
โIโm going to check out her room,โ Wyatt announced. He ignored Bianca completely and looked at Abigail with obvious affection.
โDonโt bother changing your shoes. Weโll have the staff clean up later. If any of the servants complain, they can blame the people running this house for not knowing how to treat their guests properly,โ he said.
Abigail couldnโt help but smile at how Wyatt was defending her so fiercely. โOkay.โ They headed upstairs together.
Bianca sidled up to Gabriel and whispered, โHas Wyatt completely recovered?โ
Gabriel didnโt answer and instead followed them upstairs.
When Wyatt saw Abigailโs room, his expression darkened even more. He spotted Gabriel coming up the stairs and said bluntly โMove Daniella tonight. Clear out her room and give it to Abby.โ
โDad, I need to talk to you about something. Can you come to my study?โ Gabriel glanced at Abigail standing beside Wyatt and lowered his voice.
โTell Bianca to clear out Daniโs room,โ Wyatt said with a stern expression.
โLetโs go to the study first,โ Gabriel said stubbornly.
โSo youโre not going to listen to me?โ Wyatt snapped, then shouted downstairs, โBianca! Where are you? Clear out Daniโs room right now! Whatโs wrong with you people?โ
Gabriel couldnโt control his anger anymore. His face flushed red as he raised his voice. โDad! Do you really have to do this? Youโre going to regret it."
โIf you and your wife wonโt cooperate, then weโll redistribute the shares,โ Wyatt said firmly.
Gabriel saw Bianca coming upstairs and tried to suppress the rage building in his chest. He shot a harsh glare at Abigail before speaking, โClear out Daniโs room!โ
โWhy does it have to be her room? Youโre just trying to humiliate her,โ Bianca protested reluctantly.
โJust do what I told you and stop arguing!โ Gabriel snapped back irritably.
Bianca had no choice but to get the housekeepers to help her.
Daniella had followed them upstairs and heard everything. She stood to the side wiping away tears, looking absolutely pitiful.
Abigail watched coldly as Bianca and the staff moved all of Daniellaโs belongings from her room to the room where Abigail used to stay.
Once they finished switching the rooms, Wyatt told her to go rest while he headed into the study with Gabriel.
