Chapter 163: Not Allowed To Enter

Outside the emergency room, Yelena paced back and forth nervously in the hallway. Watching her, Chelsea let out a cold scoff. “Ms. Quixall, you’ve already pushed him to the point of collapsing. Why are you still pretending to care?”

Yelena stammered, clearly distressed. “I… I didn’t think he’d actually pass out. We were just arguing. How could he be so mentally fragile?”

Chelsea let out a soft, sarcastic laugh. “Ms. Quixall, no need to cover for yourself. You should know exactly what you said to Caleb before he lost consciousness.”

If she had known things would turn out like this, Chelsea never would have let Yelena in, no matter what excuse she gave. That woman had a way of creating chaos wherever she went. She first came, claiming to visit her little brother, and ended up driving him straight into the emergency room. And now, she was still standing there, criticizing him for being emotionally fragile. Chelsea couldn’t recall ever meeting such an infuriating sister.

When Yelena didn’t say a word, Chelsea’s tone turned sharper. “Ms. Quixall, did you know? This makes the third time Caleb’s been rushed to the emergency room.”

Yelena was taken aback. “What’s going on here?”

Isn’t this the second time? The first was the car accident, and the second was because she infuriated him. Was there a third time?

Chelsea ticked them off on her fingers. “First, he got hit by a Bentley. No one ever found out who was driving it. Your family refused to give him a blood transfusion, and he nearly died from it.”

She continued, her voice low but firm. “Second, he got ambushed by a bunch of thugs. He had stab wounds all over, was in a coma for days, and barely pulled through. And now, for the third time, while he’s still recovering from those injuries, you came in, said what you said, and triggered a relapse. His condition is critical.”

Her words were laced with bitterness as she gave a cynical smile. “This is number three. And yet, you call yourself his sister? You don’t even know what he’s been through?”

Yelena’s head dropped, a guilty look on her face. Compared to her other siblings, she had clearly failed Caleb. She hadn’t protected him—she’d hurt him, over and over. I don’t deserve to be his sister.

Chelsea’s tone cooled, but her words stung. “Oh, and Ms. Quixall? Did you know Caleb’s ribs were permanently damaged?”

Yelena blinked in confusion. Injury at the ribs…

Suddenly, a memory from years ago surfaced. One afternoon, Jesse had insisted, despite everyone’s warnings, on climbing that abandoned old tower. The stairs were rotten, about to collapse. In the heat of the moment, she had shoved Caleb. “Jump down, Caleb will catch you!”

They were severely scolded by their parents. She hadn’t thought much of it since.

But now, guilt swelled inside her again. Still, she kept her pride up. “I’m not sure. Maybe he got hurt while he was in prison.”

Just one sentence, and Chelsea saw right through her.

Without responding, Chelsea picked up the phone and called the receptionist. “From now on, Ms. Quixall and anyone from her family are not allowed to enter the hospital. If they show up, escort them out immediately.”

“Yes, Ms. Yardley.”

As soon as the call ended, Yelena’s face darkened. “Ms. Yardley, what right do you have to deny us entry? Caleb’s my brother, not yours! You’ve got no say in who sees him!”
