Listen to this chapter:

Marian stared silently at Evangeline for a few seconds. Evangeline was undoubtedly a genius.

Soon, she approached Jeffrey, sword in hand. Riley restrained Jeffrey, holding him still while Marian prepared to act.

Jeffrey screamed in horror, attempting to intimidate them with his background. "No! Don't! You can't hurt me! I'm an Atharian! I have many men backing me. If you hurt me, they'll kill you!" But they showed no fear of death. His threat was meaningless.

Jeffrey's screams echoed, startling the birds in the trees. The white tiger watched, roaring excitedly and happily pawing the ground. It finally had found someone more wretched than itself. In contrast, Evangeline was surprisingly gentle with the tiger. When she “tried” to eat it, she merely crushed its eggs and kicked it. She was, in her own way, kind to it. The white tiger howled happily, nuzzling Evangeline's back; its strength nearly knocked her off her feet.

Evangeline slapped the tiger's head. "I told you to stop howling! Why are you still howling?"

The tiger had lowered its voice, but she was too close. Its howl was like a trumpet, hurting Evangeline's ears. Even a whisper from such a massive creature was deafening. The tiger dared not howl again, yet it remained happy, interpreting Evangeline's slap as a playful tickle, believing she hadn't meant to hurt it.

Marian had already castrated Jeffrey.

Evangeline gathered herbs and instructed Marian to apply them to Jeffrey's wounds. The wounds on his lower body received the same treatment as those on his upper body. Some small, blood-consuming creatures were inadvertently mixed into the herbs.

Jeffrey was in excruciating pain, unable to even faint. He trembled violently, weakly looking at Evangeline and managing to croak, "Evangeline why are you so cruel to me?" He felt his offense had been minor; he couldn't comprehend her brutal methods.

August 10th

Evangeline smiled. "Cruel? Compared to what you planned for me, this is nothing."

Jeffrey trembled, his eyes burning with rage.

Evangeline asked, "What were the bounty tasks from your bosses? How did you intend to torture me?"

Jeffrey's pupils constricted in shock. How did she know? He remained silent. The livestream may have been cut off from the application, but the bosses still had access. They were watching. He dared not speak. Even in agony, he wouldn't reveal anything. If he did, the bosses would blame him, and his family would suffer.

Evangeline shrugged indifferently. "Not telling? Fine. I'll use my imagination. While I'm not as depraved as you, I imagine it won't be too different. I'll treat you accordingly."

She stroked her chin thoughtfully, then said to Riley, "Didn't we get some rope? Tie a rope around his neck and walk him like a dog. Isn't there a bounty for tying me up and humiliating me?"

Jeffrey's pupils dilated violently. His head shook fiercely. There were far more egregious tasks, but he gritted his teeth, refusing to answer.

Riley silently retrieved a rope and tied it around Jeffrey's neck.

Evangeline said, "Not enough. He'll still stand. We need to make him unable to stand."

Marian suggested, "Break his knees?"

Riley agreed, "Then he can't stand."

Evangeline looked at Jeffrey with a wicked smile. "Any thoughts?"

Jeffrey seethed. She wants my advice on how to torture me? She’s more ruthless than a demon!

Evangeline sighed. "You've been attacking me relentlessly, yet I politely ask for your opinion. You're so rude. Uneducated! Such a savage!" She turned to Marian. "Since he won't cooperate, let's break his legs like we did Kent. Then he'll have to crawl."

Jeffrey trembled violently.

August 22nd, 11:30 AM

The director relayed the fates of Norbert and Kent through his headphones. The thought alone terrified him.

As Marian moved to act, Jeffrey finally cried out, "I I'll crawl! Stop!"

Evangeline shook her head. "No. You can still stand. I fear you'll fight back."

Jeffrey urged, "I swear I won't!"

Evangeline shook her head. "I don't believe you. Only if you're physically incapable of standing will I be reassured."

Jeffrey trembled, his face paling then flushing. He made a desperate choice. "Cut off my feet!"

Amputation would be agonizing, but preferable to Kent's fate.

Evangeline smiled. "Brutal. You want us to cut off your feet? We could simply tie your hands and feet with sticks, preventing you from standing. Learn more, Jeffrey."

Jeffrey froze. "Okay! Don't cut off my feet. Do as you say! Tie them up with sticks and rope!"

Evangeline said, "No. I hate people who break their word. You asked for it. You can't change your mind. Do it yourself. It was your idea. How kind I am! Kinder than anyone else."

Evangeline gestured for Marian to give Jeffrey the knife. A flicker of cruelty crossed his eyes—he wanted to kill Evangeline. The thought was fleeting. He couldn't defeat her, and even if he did, the tiger would attack.

Trembling, he took the knife and cut his own feet. He screamed, rolling on the ground, clutching his feet. Evangeline quickly stanched the bleeding.

While searching for herbs, she caught two snakes. She tossed them to Riley. "You know what to do."

Riley nodded. "Of course."
