At the police station entrance, Hugo exploded. "Evangeline, your family is biased! They're insane! Listening to them makes my fists clench. If we weren't at the police station, I'd beat them!"
Steven added, "I agree. Something's wrong with them. Evangeline was the victim, yet they accuse her of being malicious! They think the girl who pushed her is kind. Do they have a different moral compass?"
Finnegan chimed in, "Did Meghan save their lives? Why are they so protective of her? They prioritize an adopted daughter over their biological daughter, even humiliating Evangeline for her. It's unbelievable!"
All three men were furious, their disdain and anger palpable.
Meanwhile, Evangeline's gaze darkened. She wondered how the Gallaghers could be so manipulated. Even after seeing Meghan's true nature, they still defended her.
Arthur looked at Evangeline sympathetically. "Have they always treated you this way?"
Evangeline shrugged indifferently. "More or less, but I don't care anymore."
Arthur said softly, "It's okay. You'll find people who love you. You're better off without them."
Evangeline checked the time. "I'm going to Superb Entertainment to terminate my contract."
Arthur nodded. "Okay, I'll go with you."
Hugo chuckled. "Me too. I'm rivals with Edward. Because of Meghan, no one in the industry works with him. They're all coming to me now—I can't wait to rub it in!"
Evangeline didn't mind their presence; she wouldn't be the one humiliated.
She contacted the notary, obtained the documents, and went to Superb Entertainment. Edward had someone escort her to the conference room.
After a while, a displeased Edward arrived. His face darkened upon seeing six people—including Arthur, the Gallaghers' archenemy, who had infiltrated their company and become a thorn in their side. Since Evangeline had sold Gallagher Group shares to Arthur, they constantly cursed him. Hugo, Edward's business rival, also owned an entertainment company, constantly competing with Edward for resources and talent. Steven and Finnegan, while not directly involved, were friends with Arthur and Hugo, making them targets of the Gallaghers' ire.
Edward entered with a sullen expression, his gaze finally settling on Evangeline. His feelings were complicated. Initially, he felt sympathy when he learned of Meghan's actions, but as the livestream gained traction and public opinion turned against the Gallaghers, he began to resent Evangeline.
10:31 AM
The Gallagher Group's businesses suffered, but the entertainment company was devastated. Celebrities under his agency were attacked by angry netizens, boycotted, and even removed from film projects. Endorsement deals were canceled, and the company was on the brink of bankruptcy. All because of Evangeline.
"Come to my office. We need to discuss this internally," Edward said.
"Why did you bring so many people?" Edward demanded. "This is a private matter."
Hugo smirked. "It's contract termination, not a state secret. Are you planning to threaten Evangeline?"
Edward's face hardened. "Don't judge me by your standards. Evangeline is my sister. I wouldn't threaten her."
Evangeline corrected him coldly. "I severed ties with the Gallaghers. I'm not your sister."
Edward's face darkened. "That doesn't change our blood relation."
Enraged, Evangeline kicked over a chair, striking Edward's foot.
"Ah!" Edward screamed, clutching his foot. Evangeline said impatiently, "You think I won't get angry, right? Provoke me again, and I'll drain your blood. Let's see how 'related' we really are!"
Edward, writhing in pain, nearly had a heart attack from rage. She's my sister! he thought. How could she do this? He felt she was utterly heartless.
