Chapter 1067: Boycotted

"Don't you want me to leave?" Theodore asked nonchalantly, grinning.

Little Bunny was speechless. Theodore's self-assurednessโ€”she couldn't tell if it was innate or acquired.

"I took a week off, so no rush. I can stay and keep you company for five days," Theodore said casually.

Five days. That was all she had to endure.

"How long will you be filming here?" Theodore asked, feeling the distance. The journey hadn't been easy, especially the treacherous mountain roads. He'd gone to great lengths for Little Bunny's sake.

"I don't know, it depends on the director. Maybe a month, maybe two weeks."

"Where are you filming next?"

"Back in the capital."

"That's better." Theodore mused before saying, "When you return to the capital, move in with me."

Little Bunny remained silent, which Theodore interpreted as a yes, assuming she was merely playing coy.

They were having a lavish lunch, but Little Bunny barely touched her food.

"Can't you eat more?" he asked, his own appetite waning. When had Little Bunny become so influential over his mood?

"I need to lose weight."

"Little Bunny,"

"As an actress, I have no choice." She didn't want to argue or be forced.

"Then don't be an actress."

She looked up at him.

"How much money do you earn? A million? Two million? Whatever it is, I'll give it to you."

In his mind, women only cared about money, their careers included.

"I want to act," she said patiently, taking a deep breath.

"What's the point?"

"I can't explain it, but I love this job," she said, striving to remain calm.

"Fine, do what makes you happy, but at least finish your food. Half your plate."

Little Bunny felt uncomfortable being ordered around.

"Little Bunny!" Theodore's anger flared. He felt she should comply, considering his compromise.

"Okay," Little Bunny agreed. Five days. She'd lose weight properly afterward.

Theodore felt inexplicably pleased by her acquiescence. It excited him.

After lunch, Theodore, still in a buoyant mood, said, "Go back to your room and rest."

"I have another scene to shoot."

"You're not sleeping because of filming?" Theodore was displeased, but seeing Little Bunny's silence, compromised again. "Fine, come back early tonight for dinner."

"Alright." Or she wouldn't be able to leave anyway.

She went straight to the set, even though she had no scenes scheduled for midday. She simply wanted to avoid Theodore.

In her makeup room, eyes closed, she reconsidered using Theodore to get rid of Caroline. He might become interested in Caroline later. It was a lose-lose situation; Caroline could eliminate her eventually. She could only endure Theodore's annoyances until things blew over. That was her solace.

Suddenly, her phone rang.

"Little Bunny! What have you done to Caroline? Do you know what people are saying? They're calling you ungrateful!" Her manager roared, hanging up abruptly without allowing a response.

Little Bunny frowned, confused and frustrated. "What happened?"

"What happened?! Look at the news!" The manager hung up.

Little Bunny saw the headline: "Did the Friendship Between Little Bunny and Caroline Break Due to a Slap?"

The title alone screamed conflict. Tens of millions of views in ten minutes, with comments exploding. Fighting back tears, she read the article.

The news detailed the day's events. Photos showed her slapping Caroline, Caroline's tearful face. It recounted Caroline's generosity, giving Little Bunny resources originally hers. Everyone saw Little Bunny as a backstabber, mourning Caroline's kindness. They claimed she was jealous of Caroline's popularity.

The comments were brutal, filled with curses and a boycott of everything Little Bunny endorsed or appeared in. Tears welled in her eyes. Online exposure was common, but she'd always been careful to avoid scandals.

She immediately called her manager. "I don't know why this is happening. Caroline did this intentionally."

"What's the point of saying that now? Stord called; if we don't handle PR well, he'll reduce your screen time. Your endorsements are pulling out. Be prepared."

Tears streamed down Little Bunny's face.

"Is there anything we can do?"

"I don't know. We wait for the boss's instructions," the manager said.

"Those resources were mine. Can't we expose Caroline's lies?" Little Bunny asked desperately.

"Do you think everyone in showbiz is stupid? Or that everyone plays fair?" the manager retorted sarcastically. "Who dares to oppose Caroline? She's so popular, everyone's sucking up to her! Who'd risk their career for a tainted artist like you?"

The manager hung up, offering no comfort or solution.
