Chapter 1069: The Wicked Woman
Susan decided to leave the matter to Theodore. She called him, though she desperately wanted to witness Manuel's reaction to the provocative dance. However, Little Bunny's happiness was paramount. Theodore, still half-asleep after a restless night and an early wake-up with Little Bunny, answered the phone furiously. "Susan, if this isn't important, I'll lose my temper!"
"I'm not afraid of your temper," Susan replied indifferently.
Theodore couldn't fathom Manuel's attraction to her. "What do you want?" he asked sarcastically.
"I heard you're pursuing Little Bunny."
"Who told you that?"
"Manuel."
"How does he know?"
"My husband knows everything, from astronomy to geography. A mere mortal like you is hardly an exception."
"What's the point?" Theodore attempted a casual mockery, but his thoughts were consumed by Little Bunny.
"Do you know what happened with Little Bunny?"
Theodore's nervousness was immediate. "What happened?"
"Don't you watch the news?"
"I just woke up! How could I have?"
"True," Susan conceded. "Little Bunny had a conflict with Caroline, and now the internet is attacking her, demanding she leave the entertainment industry. She must feel terrible. It's your hero moment."
"Damn!" Theodore cursed, leaping out of bed, ready to find Little Bunny with Samson. "Do you know what to do?" Susan sensed his rising impatience. His anger was unstoppable.
"Yes!" Theodore hung up abruptly, leaving Susan frowning. She hadn't explained anything.
Theodore, a powerful figure at Oscar's side for years, could easily handle Caroline. This eased Susan's concerns. She simply hoped he genuinely cared for Little Bunny. If he saved her, perhaps she would soften towards him.
Theodore dressed quickly and stormed out, only to encounter Caroline. His face darkened at the sight of her. Before he could unleash his anger, Caroline, tearful, pleaded, "Theodore, please help Little Bunny. Please."
She sobbed dramatically, feigning victimhood. "I don't know who wrote those things online, but there's no conflict between Little Bunny and me. The media is twisting things. Now she's been attacked online, and I don't know what to do. You're the only one who can help."
"Where is she?" Theodore asked.
"I don't know, maybe still on set."
"I'll find her," Theodore declared, wanting to comfort her before addressing the issue.
Caroline urgently grabbed his hand. "Don't go yet. She's probably devastated and wants to be alone. We need to solve this first."
Theodore understood. He remembered his own childhood experiences with Oscar and Manuel; failure meant hiding until he composed himself. He didn't crave comfort then.
He nodded, agreeing with Caroline's suggestion. "Which outlets reported this?"
"Many," Caroline replied anxiously, fumbling with her phone. "Mr. Wold, can you stop them? The longer this spreads, the worse it'll be for her."
Theodore, wielding considerable power, immediately agreed. He contacted Samson, ordering the immediate removal of all articles about Little Bunny.
Caroline was stunned by the swift action. Within minutes, all articles vanished. Accounts posting negative comments were permanently blocked.
Caroline was awestruck by Theodore's power. She'd hoped to curry favor, to help Little Bunny and draw closer to Theodore, but she never anticipated this. She hadn't expected such a quick resolution.
Her focus shifted. Power in the industry resided with Theodore. "Mr. Wold," she said, "the conflict is still known, even without the news. It'll still affect Little Bunny. I could record a video, clarifying the situation, saying it was all fabricated."
"Sure," Theodore nodded. "Do it now. Samson."
"Right away," Samson replied, producing his phone.
Caroline began recording, repeatedly faltering due to nerves. "Sorry, let me start again," she apologized profusely.
Theodore was impatient, but maintained outward calm for Little Bunny's sake. "Memorize your lines first."
"Okay," Caroline agreed, "I was being stupid."
She began memorizing, intentionally making mistakes to prolong their interaction.
When Little Bunny returned, she found Theodore and Caroline rehearsing. Confused, she wondered about their close relationship and the rumor that sleeping with Theodore would end his interest. She clutched a business card from a photographer, offering to expose Caroline's lies in exchange for intimacy.
