Chapter 120

He sat there frozen as I stared at him. I could see the anger in his eyes, but I just stared at him.

โ€œThat isnโ€™t fair.โ€ I turned to face Shannon.

โ€œWhat isnโ€™t fair? How you treated my mother like an omega? Or that she refuses to bow down to your pathetic demands any longer?โ€ She glared at me, but I just tilted my head. โ€œNeither one of you can give me a reason why I should step in and ask her to move on. So no. I refuse to help the two of you.โ€ I picked up my phone and my coffee, took another sip, and went back to scrolling as Shannon fumed next to me.

โ€œThen fucking leave.โ€ Shannon slammed back into her chair, toppling it to the floor. Her chest was heaving as she panted in her anger. โ€œTake your whore mother and fucking get out of our house.โ€ Shannon glared at me, and I put down my coffee again, then turned to Morgan.

I smiled, and I saw him pale. โ€œNow why would I leave the home I own?โ€

Shannon screeched. โ€œThis is my house! My father was given the house by the Alpha.โ€ She stomped over to me and tried to grab my arm, but I caught her hand and squeezed.

I looked back at Morgan as Shannon froze with her hand in my fist. โ€œMorgan, your daughter is once again confused.โ€ I squeezed her hand a little more, and she whined.

โ€œPlease,โ€ he whispered. I wasnโ€™t sure what he was asking for.

โ€œPlease what?โ€ I tilted my head up and stared up at Shannon. I wanted to watch her face as the truth came out. โ€œPlease let Shannon go? Or please donโ€™t tell her that the Alpha was going to take this house a few years ago because the pack was losing money and he wanted to rent it out? He wanted us to move back to the pack house, so I offered to buy it with the allowance that my father gives me. Five hundred thousand dollars, and the house that you grew up in was mine. I will say it is actually in my motherโ€™s name since I was a child when I paid for it, but your father and Vince know the truth.โ€

Shannon looked to her father, who looked away, confirming what I said was true. โ€œYou canโ€™t be serious.โ€

โ€œBut I am. Deadly serious.โ€ And I pushed up from my chair, pushing her back with each step. โ€œLet me clear up everything else, because your father has allowed you to think you are higher on the food chain than he should have. The Alpha knows the truth, and even he is appalled.โ€

โ€œAmyโ€ฆโ€ Morgan shook his head, but I was over it.

โ€œNo, Morgan. I think I have been very gracious to this point, but there is only so much someone is willing to deal with.โ€ I looked at him, and once again he looked away. โ€œYou see, Shannon, this is my house. My mother has put up with your behavior because of an agreement she had with your dad, but since he is willing to break his word, there is no longer any reason for us to do so.โ€

โ€œWhat are you saying?โ€ Morgan snapped his head to meet my gaze, but he didnโ€™t find my eyes, but Nixโ€™s.

โ€œYou are a pathetic wolf, one who couldnโ€™t keep her beta status, but also one who has no inkling of her actual place in the world. So allow me to teach you your place.โ€

โ€œAmy, please.โ€

I slammed my aura out, and Shannon dropped to the floor, burying her face against the wood. โ€œShannon Farrow, you will stay in this position until I leave the house. You will drop to your knees if I enter a room you are already in. And you will avoid talking to me until I lift this command.โ€

โ€œAmy!โ€ Morgan stood and ran to his daughterโ€™s side. โ€œRemove the command, now.โ€ I looked down at Morgan and I felt Nix growl.

โ€œWho are you to demand anything from me?โ€ I growled out.

Morgan stuttered as he looked up at me. โ€œYou canโ€™t treat your sister like this.โ€

I laughed and sat back down in my seat. โ€œWhen has she ever treated us like family? She treated my mother like a servant and me as a nuisance. But that stops today.โ€ I turned back to my coffee and Morgan stood and called for my mother.

She walked in carrying two plates of waffles and bacon. She sat one in front of me, and Morgan sat in his chair, thinking the second was for him, but she just sat down in her spot and dug into the second plate.

โ€œAinsley, you have toโ€“โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t have to do shit, Morgan. You and your daughter are on your own. Go to the pack house to eat.โ€ She growled out, then we both turned back to our plates.
