Chapter 495

Lynn turned to my mom and hugged her. โ€œThank youโ€ฆfor everything.โ€

My mom squeezed her back. โ€œNo thanks needed. Iโ€™m going to be your luna.โ€

Lynn shook her head. โ€œYou already are my luna.โ€ Then she stepped back and looked at me. โ€œIโ€™m ready.โ€

โ€œGood.โ€ I turned and hugged my mom. โ€œKeep an eye out for the trackers.โ€

โ€œStay safe.โ€ She pulled away and cupped my face. โ€œTell your father I love him.โ€

I nodded once, then turned to Toya and Lynn. โ€œFollow me.โ€ I headed towards the cliff. Toya trailed after me, hesitating for a second.

โ€œArenโ€™t we going back to Vinceโ€™s pack to get to the plane?โ€ There was no fear, just confusion.

But Lynnโ€ฆ I shook my head. โ€œNo. There is a faster way.โ€ I went to the edge and found a ledge. I stepped down and started down the path to the cave. The waves below had dampened the steep steps, but Toya and Lynn followed closely. Once I reached the cave, I slipped inside and waited for them to squeeze in with me.

โ€œHow the hell did you find this?โ€ Toya shook her head in disbelief.

โ€œI came from the other side last time.โ€ I squeezed through the crack and started down the stairs. I walked slowly until Toya and Lynn were both through.

โ€œHoly goddessโ€ฆโ€ Lynn looked around. โ€œThis is under the cabin?โ€ I nodded.

โ€œCrazy, right?โ€ I laughed as they both nodded. โ€œLetโ€™s go.โ€ I started running.

โ€œWhere are we running to?โ€ Toya called out, and I just laughed.

โ€œYou will see.โ€ We ran for a long time, but I felt the shift as we crossed the magic barrier.

โ€œWhat was that?โ€ Toya and Lynn called out as they crossed.

I laughed again. โ€œMagic.โ€ We ran a little longer before the path angled upward. We made it to the hatch, and I pushed it open.

โ€œDid this lead away from Vinceโ€™s pack to get closer to the airport?โ€ Lynn followed me up, then Toya joined us, hunched over. โ€œWhere the fuck is this?โ€ Lynn sounded genuinely confused.

I shut the hatch, feeling the magic lock it in place. No one was crossing this way. I went to the side of the gazebo, pulled out the wall, and slipped outside, taking a deep, clean breath. The familiar trees comforted me.

Lynn slipped out first and froze. โ€œNo.โ€

Toya pushed Lynn forward so she could slip out. She looked around. โ€œWhere are we?โ€

โ€œMy dadโ€™s pack lands.โ€ I smiled as the back door of the pack house opened. I saw a familiar face lean out, and I started running. I heard Lynn and Toya follow, but I was focused on the face that had slipped back inside the dark house. I pushed the door open and jumped.

โ€œBaby girl.โ€ My dad caught me, and I started to cry.

โ€œDaddy.โ€ I sobbed into his shoulder as I heard a gasp.

Toya dove past me into someoneโ€™s arms. โ€œFather,โ€ she choked out, โ€œMama.โ€

โ€œOur sweet girl.โ€ A womanโ€™s soft voice quivered.

โ€œLynn.โ€ Uncle Ronnie called out, and I heard him pat her back. โ€œYou look sickโ€ฆare you okay?โ€

I pulled back and smiled. โ€œUncle Ronnie.โ€ Lynn gave me a grateful look as I pulled him into a hug.

โ€œHey ladybug.โ€ He hugged me tighter.

โ€œIโ€™ve missed you.โ€

โ€œAnd weโ€™ve missed you.โ€ My dad reached out, tugged a piece of my hair. โ€œYouโ€™re hard to get ahold of.โ€

I snorted. โ€œFor a dead man, youโ€™ve been very demanding.โ€ Everyone laughed.

โ€œAmy?โ€ Toya called, and I spun. โ€œI want to introduce you properly to my parents. This is Amy.โ€

โ€œThe girl that saved my baby.โ€ Arms pulled me into a hug.

โ€œMama,โ€ Toya laughed. โ€œLeave her be.โ€

My dad called out, โ€œBroderick?โ€

Toyaโ€™s father looked over. โ€œYeah?โ€

โ€œAmy is going to go over everything that happened these last few years in my office, if you want to join us. Weโ€™d be happy to have you and the other alphas.โ€

Toyaโ€™s dad nodded. โ€œIโ€™ll grab the rest of the guys and meet you in five minutes.โ€

My dad nodded, then turned to me. โ€œLetโ€™s head up.โ€

I looked around. โ€œCass?โ€

โ€œSheโ€™s watching over the caves.โ€ Ronnie patted my shoulder as we turned. โ€œWhen youโ€™re done going over everything from the last couple of years, Iโ€™ll do the same with you.โ€ I nodded.

โ€œHas a lot changed?โ€ I followed them up the stairs, passing dusty room after dusty room. I kept looking around, then my dad pushed open his office door. Sheets covered everything, making me stop dead. โ€œI guess it has.โ€ I looked around as my dad started pulling off the first sheet.

He nodded. โ€œWe had the omegas cover everything before we left.โ€

โ€œBut why does everyone think youโ€™re dead?โ€

My dad snorted. โ€œMagic.โ€
