Chapter 262: Magical Doctor

Translator: Tim Editor: Chrissy

"Haha, you're really funny," Doctor Liu scoffed, returning to his office. "You still smell of your mother's milk, probably only read a few textbooks, and yet you claim to cure bone marrow necrosis and pulverized bones? Why are people so arrogant and boastful these days?" He was clearly angered by Ye Mo.

A middle-aged female doctor chuckled from a corner. "All young people are like that, Old Liu. To borrow my daughter's words, 'If you take them seriously, you lose!' Haha..."

Doctor Liu patted his head. "That's true. The insolent fear nothing. Why am I getting angry with such a youngster? I'm only making the patient suffer."

A nurse entered, stopping Ye Mo. "Sir, you must not touch the patient."

Ye Mo casually moved her aside. A flurry of motion followed as golden needles landed on Chong Yuanyuan's leg. The nurse stared, stunned by his speed.

Their hospital employed a Chinese medicine doctorโ€”even a highly skilled executive was oneโ€”and she'd seen him use acupuncture. But Ye Mo was far faster. Her initial shock gave way to suspicion; could this young man actually possess such skill?

Regardless, she knew she couldn't decide. She had to report this immediately: an outsider practicing medicine in the hospital was a serious matter.

The nurse ran off, unnoticed by most. Chong Yuanyuan's mother, however, was shocked. Such speed was unbelievable, even without needles.

Chong Yuanyuan felt needles constantly piercing and withdrawing from her bonesโ€”so fast she couldn't distinguish entry from exit. A warm sensation flowed through her leg, bringing unexpected comfort. She even forgot her embarrassment when Ye Mo placed his hand on her broken ribs.

The nurse burst through the door and encountered a royally dressed middle-aged woman descending the stairs. "Executive Hu," she exclaimed, "someone's treating a patient, and he's not a hospital doctor!"

Hu's face fell. "Call security! Stop him immediately. What's he doing?"

"Acupuncture," the nurse replied breathlessly. "Room 203, on the patient's leg wound. His speed is unbelievably fastโ€”I can barely see it."

"Acupuncture? 203? The woman who cried in my office about her daughter needing prosthetic legs?" Hu recalled.

"Yes," the nurse confirmed.

"Oh, wait... I'll go look... actually, no, I'm busy," Hu stammered, remembering the middle-aged woman beside him.

The woman, lost in thought, smiled upon hearing this. "This person sounds interesting. I'd like to see."

Hu, also curious about the acupuncture treatment, readily agreed. "Very well. Let's go."

Ye Mo, unaware of the executive's arrival, continued his work, unconcerned as long as he wasn't stopped.

Hu Yang watched, shocked. A seasoned practitioner of Chinese medicine, he'd never witnessed such acupuncture skill. Ye Mo's hands were a blur; needles darted in and out, their entry points nearly invisible, let alone the specific acupuncture points.

With 108 golden needles and his spiritual energy, Ye Mo meticulously repaired Chong Yuanyuan's bones and ribs, using spiritual sense and chi to realign and stabilize them.

As the treatment progressed, Chong Yuanyuan felt increasing joy; the numbness and pain receded, and sensation returned to her legs. She felt she could walk.

Despite his skill, Ye Mo, a Stage 3 Chi Gatherer, expended considerable energy. Sweat beaded on his forehead. Tang Beiwei quickly wiped it away with a handkerchief.

Hu Yang and the middle-aged woman watched in astonishment, recognizing a true master. Even Chong Yuanyuan's mother perceived Ye Mo's exceptional ability.

After an hour, Ye Mo gasped, offering Chong Yuanyuan a pill. "It's done. Eat this." She eagerly obeyed.

"Yuanyuan, how do you feel?" her mother asked anxiously.

Chong Yuanyuan moved her leg, raising it in surprise. "Mum, my leg feels perfectly fine! I think I can walk! And my chest doesn't feel heavy anymore!" She then blushed, remembering the chest treatment.

Ye Mo smiled. "Not yet. Wait a week for full recovery." The chi nourishment required a week of rest.

Overjoyed, Chong Yuanyuan's mother almost bowed, but Ye Mo stopped her.

"Thank you," she exclaimed. "If Yuanyuan had needed a prosthetic leg, I don't know what I would have done. Thank you! The doctors here are useless, always talking about prosthetics!" She didn't notice Hu Yang's presence.

Unfazed by her outburst, Hu Yang watched Ye Mo pack away the needles, then observed Chong Yuanyuan's ability to raise her leg. After a moment's silence, he approached Ye Mo, bowing deeply. "Master doctor! I've seen Yuanyuan's case firsthand, and your swift cure is astonishing. I've learned much today. There's always someone greater."

"Who are you?" Ye Mo asked, studying Hu Yang.

Hu Yang presented his business card respectfully. "I'm Hu Yang, the hospital executive. May I have your name?"

Hu Yang no longer saw Ye Mo as an amateur; he was a god. Having such a doctor at Tan Kang Hospital could make it world-renowned.

Ye Mo's lack of enthusiasm was evident, prompting the woman beside Hu Yang to approach cautiously.

"Mr. Ye," she said, "I'm Pang Haixiang, of Hong Kong Da Di Corporation. Your medical skill is astounding. Might I have the honor of dinner?" Her fervor held a hint of something more than professional admiration. She presented a pure gold business card.

Ye Mo smiled. "I'm sorry, I don't have time." He turned to Chong Yuanyuan. "Yuanyuan, let's have dinner in a few days. Thank you for helping Beiwei."

"Okay, Brother Ye Mo, thank you!" Chong Yuanyuan replied happily.

Chong Yuanyuan's mother was speechless with gratitude.

The sudden invitation to Chong Yuanyuan, after refusing the others, created an awkward silence. However, Ms. Pang persevered, her ingenuity apparent.

"Mr. Ye, please forgive my rudeness, but my husband is gravely ill, bedridden... I came to Tan Kang to borrow herbs from Executive Hu, but meeting you is a stroke of luck. You are a master, and I implore youโ€ฆ" Her voice choked with emotion, her concern evident.

Ye Mo frowned. He'd only helped Chong Yuanyuan out of compassion, not to become a doctor-for-hire. He should have left earlier.

Seeing Ye Mo's hesitation, Ms. Pang pressed on. "I'll pay any price for my husband's cure."

Ye Mo sighed, unable to refuse such heartfelt pleas. "Very well, this is an exception. Have him brought here. I'll treat him in two nights."

Overjoyed, Ms. Pang thanked him profusely.

Just then, sirens wailed. Five police cars screeched to a halt, and over ten officers stormed in, surrounding Ye Mo at gunpoint.
