Chapter 685: Fish Jumping Through the Dragon Gate
Ye Mo waved his hand, destroying the camera. He gestured to An Zhiqi. "Let's go."
A furious roar erupted. "Ye, if you dare touch her, I will destroy your corpse into a million pieces and vanish your land from existence."
Ye Mo stopped, sneering. "Dongfang Wang, I wasn't planning to kill you before, but now you're dead for sure. No one can threaten me. No one from the Dongfang family can threaten me. I could kill Dongfang Xi, and I can kill you, no matter where you hide."
Silence followed, then a slow voice: "As long as you don't touch Zhiqi, I swear I won't do anything against you. What Dongfang Tang is doing has nothing to do with me."
"Haha!" Ye Mo laughed. "You have no right to tell me which girl I can or cannot touch. You overestimate yourself! No matter how strong your net is, one day I will grab you and kill you."
An Zhiqi, furious, yelled, "Dongfang Wang, who do you think you are?! How can you be so shameless! I will sleep with Brother Ye tonight, what are you going to do about it?! You scum! Animal!"
"Arghhhh!!!" Dongfang Wang roared. Ye Mo sneered and walked out of the room.
"Sorry, Brother Ye," An Zhiqi said, feeling terrible. She couldn't believe what had happened. Someone had claimed her without her knowledge or consent.
Ye Mo waved his hand, speechless about the truth regarding Dongfang Wang.
"I didn't ask for his permission. That man is so incredibly disgusting. I'm scared just thinking about it; he can kill innocent people so casually. In his eyes, people's lives are worth nothing," An Zhiqi said, her mood dark.
She thought about the two suicides at the university. They seemed connected to her, and now she knew they were linked to Dongfang Wang. Luckily, Chen Guang had a girlfriend; otherwise, he might have been killed too.
Ye Mo waved his hand dismissively. "It's fine, it's not like I lost anything." An Zhiqi's young, soft, fragrant lips hadn't been unpleasant. As for sleeping together tonight, Ye Mo didn't take it seriously.
An Zhiqi blushed. "I don't dare stay in Beijing anymore. I'm going to my grandfather's place tomorrow. I told my sister I'd go to her place next month, but after this, I need to leave as quickly as possible. Brother Ye, you need to watch out for Dongfang Wang too."
"What's your sister called?" Ye Mo asked.
An Zhiqi smiled. "Her name is An Ning. She's in Luo Yue right now."
He knew her! He'd gotten the yin yang eight-trigram fish eye from An Ning. According to her, her grandfather had given it to her. This meant An Zhiqi's grandfather was also An Ning's. Ye Mo wanted to visit the old man.
He hadn't mentioned it to An Ning because he disliked her. Although An Ning was prettier than her sister, Ye Mo found An Zhiqi easier to talk to. He smiled. "Can I stay for a while at your house?"
An Zhiqi blushed. After a long pause, she stammered, "Brother Ye, sorry about before. Don't misunderstand, I just wanted to anger Dongfang Wang. That's why Iโ"
Ye Mo understood and waved his hand. "An Zhiqi, you're mistaken. I seem to know your grandpa, so I want to visit him. Moreover, I'm already married; you're thinking too much."
Even so, An Zhiqi remained nervous, but felt more at ease.
Her grandfather was An Zaishan. An Zhiqi's parents were in Korea, leaving their daughters in Beijing.
Seeing his granddaughter, An Zaishan was surprised. She had many friends but had never brought a boyfriend home.
"An-Qianbei, sorry for disturbing you," Ye Mo's greeting sounded strange to An Zaishan. An Zhiqi almost laughed.
He was missing two pieces of the yin yang fish.
Before An Zaishan could ask, Ye Mo produced the eye from An Ning. "An-Qianbei, I came for this."
"The fish eye? So you were the person who made the deal with my granddaughter?" An Zaishan asked, shocked, grabbing the eye.
Ye Mo nodded. "Yes, An-Qianbei, I have a yin yang eight-trigram fish. I have five pieces now, and it seems to be missing two fish tails. So I came to ask you where you got the eye from."
"HuhโBrother Ye, you know my sister?" An Zhiqi, initially scared, finally understood.
Ye Mo displayed his collected pieces.
An Zaishan examined them carefully before setting them down. He sighed. "So that's it. I didn't think someone would gather this many pieces. Sighโ"
An Zaishan seemed knowledgeable.
Ye Mo saluted. "An-Qianbei, please tell me what this is."
An Zaishan gestured for Ye Mo to sit. "Decades ago, an old friend gave me the fish eye. His name is Zhang Zhihui, from the Zhang family. However, he left the Zhang family to seek dao, and I haven't seen him for decades."
Ye Mo felt sad. Zhang Zhihui had died for him, yet he didn't know who killed him.
An Zaishan continued. "More than 50 years ago, we were in the army. After he completed a mission, he gave me the fish and a top-grade jade. Something happened after that mission, and he left the army. Sighโwait a second."
An Zaishan retrieved a jade piece for Ye Mo.
He scanned it. Ye Mo saw an inscription: "When seven pieces are formed, a fish jumps through the dragon gate."
An Zaishan, seeing Ye Mo's silence, said, "Here it says 'when seven pieces are formed, a fish jumps through the dragon gate.' I don't know what that means, but seeing you bring five pieces, there must be seven. So indeed, you are missing two pieces."
He added, "I have no use for this jade; I'll give it to you."
Ye Mo had planned to ask, but An Zaishan offered it first. He saluted. "Then thank you, An-Qianbei! I still wish to ask another question. Did Zhang-Qianbei ever tell you where he found this?"
An Zaishan shook his head. "I don't know. The mission was confidential. I never saw him again."
Ye Mo offered An Zaishan two bracelets. "These are magic artifact bracelets. They keep evil away and maintain health. I don't have much to give, so I can only offer this."
An Zaishan was pleased, thanking Ye Mo. An Zhiqi liked the bracelet too; she didn't care about warding off evil, but it was pretty.
Though Ye Mo wanted to go to Luo Yue immediately, An Zaishan's hospitality kept him. He stayed the night, studying the pieces. In the middle of the night, just as he was about to sleep, he felt a bleak chi.
