Chapter 731: I Like to Kill Taiyi Sect’s People
“You people are so unreasonable!” a coarse female voice exclaimed.
Someone immediately sneered, “Unreasonable? Our Taiyi Sect is a special-grade sect; how could we be unreasonable to people like you? Many people here saw it—who didn’t follow the rules first? You took back your words, and you’re saying I, Jin Cangliang, am being unreasonable!?”
Ye Mo shook his head. He started to walk away, but his spirit sense detected something the man beside the woman held. He stopped, covered his face with a black cloth, and squeezed into the crowd. He didn’t want his actions to affect Mu Xiaoyun. Luckily, most people were focused on the commotion, and no one noticed him.
Two Taiyi Sect members and a servant stood beside a man and woman, who appeared to be a couple. The woman was attractive, and the man looked sturdy. Ye Mo had squeezed into the crowd because he saw a handful of blood cherries in the man’s hand.
Blood cherries were a main ingredient in a great chi-increasing pill. In the cultivation realm, a single blood cherry could sell for thirty spirit stones.
“What’s wrong?” Ye Mo asked.
Ye Mo was plainly dressed and smelled unusual.
Everyone glanced at him but didn’t reply, confused by his masked face. He was clearly trying to avoid trouble.
“You have no business here. If you don’t want trouble, leave,” a Taiyi Sect member sneered.
The woman retorted, “My husband and I gathered herbs near Wu Wen City and found twelve blood cherries. These two are using their sect’s name to buy our herbs at a low price. We refused to sell, but they’re trying to force us.”
“Yan Xin, just give them what they want. We can’t fight them, but we can avoid them,” the man said.
Ye Mo laughed. “So, you’re forcing them to sell the cherries? How shameless!”
“Who are you calling shameless?! We’re from the Taiyi Sect. Choose your words carefully,” the sect member threatened.
The other sect member stepped forward. “Friend, we didn’t force them. They found the blood cherries and were selling them. Two people wanted to buy them, and I said the highest bidder should get them. They agreed, but after I bid, no one else did. How is that forcing someone? Are they retracting their offer, or are we forcing them?”
“Oh, how much did you offer?” Ye Mo asked.
“Fifty gold coins,” the man hesitated.
Ye Mo sneered. A single blood cherry was worth six hundred gold coins, yet they wanted twelve for fifty. And they acted so self-righteous.
Ye Mo looked around and realized no one dared to bid, not because they didn't want to, but because they couldn't.
Ye Mo smiled at the couple. “Friends, these men are right. You’re selling; the highest bidder gets it, right?”
“You—” The woman was speechless. She’d hoped Ye Mo would help, but he seemed to be siding with the Taiyi Sect members.
“Hahaha! Friend, you’re clever. Of course, the highest bidder wins,” the sect member who’d told Ye Mo to leave laughed, realizing Ye Mo was also appeasing them.
The onlookers shook their heads; they were used to this.
Before the Taiyi Sect member finished laughing, Ye Mo produced a ten-thousand-gold-coin cheque and gave it to the man. “I’ll pay ten thousand gold coins. My offer is higher, right? If you’re satisfied, the blood cherries are mine.”
“Huh!” The man was stunned.
The woman reacted quickly, handing over the cherries and taking the cheque. “Very satisfied!” she said gratefully. “Thank you.”
“You’re f*cking asking to die!” one Taiyi Sect member shouted, attacking.
Ye Mo’s expression hardened. A curved sword appeared, a flash of light, and the sect member was bisected.
Blood sprayed onto the street, silencing the crowd. Fights were common in Wu Wen City, but even deadly ones weren’t settled within the city. This was brutal; he’d killed someone from the Taiyi Sect in the city!
“You—you dare kill one of our disciples!” the other member raged, but before he finished, Ye Mo’s sword flashed again, and he too was cut in half.
The servant was terrified, knowing any defiance would be fatal.
The couple hadn’t expected Ye Mo to kill in the city, especially a Taiyi Sect member. The woman reacted quickly; they needed to leave. She gave Ye Mo a booklet. “Big Brother, this is yours. Leave quickly. We’re leaving too.” She dragged her husband away.
Ye Mo smiled. He’d killed them intentionally. This was revenge against the Taiyi Sect, just the beginning. He doubted anyone in the city could stop him. By the time the masters arrived, he’d be in Wu Wen Mountain.
He opened the booklet—a detailed map of common herbs. Ye Mo felt grateful to the woman.
Six ancient martial artists landed beside him: one at half-step Great Heaven, three at Earth Primary stage, one at Earth Middle, and one at Earth Tertiary.
“Friend, you dare kill in Wu Wen City! Drop your weapon and come with us!” the Earth Tertiary stage martial artist demanded.
Ye Mo sneered. “Anyone from the Taiyi Sect here?”
“I am! What are you going to do? You’re a mere Black Level, yet you dare kill a Taiyi Sect member in this city?” the Earth level martial artist said coldly. If he’d known Ye Mo’s identity, he’d have killed him already.
“Great, I like to kill Taiyi Sect’s people.” Ye Mo attacked.
The Earth Tertiary stage martial artist saw a sword ray descending. Terrorized, he tried to dodge, but an invisible force held him in place. His head felt cold. “Inner qi wall—Great Heaven—” Then, darkness.
The five others were shocked. An Earth Tertiary stage martial artist couldn’t withstand a single attack?
