Chapter 103: A Double Slap
Divine's eyes met Olive's bright gaze. Olive gently held her hand. "Divine," she said, "I believe in you."
A warm current flowed through Divine. She froze for a moment. "Olive, I didn't do it. Greg is lying."
"I know," Olive replied, releasing Divine's hand and heading toward Greg.
The crowd parted slightly as Olive approached, their curiosity piqued. Pamela watched intently, anticipating Olive's next move.
The pharmacy door opened, revealing a man—the "sleep-loving man"—and his subordinate.
"Second Young Master…" the subordinate began respectfully.
The man raised his hand, silencing him.
Olive glared at Greg, her eyes cold and intense. "Team Leader Greg," she said, "I've seen shameless people, but you're unmatched. Apologize to Divine."
Greg laughed loudly. "Apologize? Olive, who do you think you are? Mind your own business!"
Olive's eyes darkened. Swiftly, she kicked Greg's knee. He yelped in surprise; her movement was both fast and precise.
Stunned silence fell over the pharmacy. Before Greg could react, Olive kicked his other knee. He crumpled to the floor. Complete quiet descended; you could hear a pin drop.
Olive looked coldly at Greg, then turned to Divine. "We've been bitten by a dog. Do you want to reason with it?"
Divine shook her head vehemently. "Of course not."
Olive looked intently at Divine, her lips briefly parting. "Do you want to slap him? Go ahead."
Greg, seething with rage, tried to stand, but Olive swiftly placed a hand on his shoulder and injected a silver needle into his neck. His body went limp; he was paralyzed.
"Divine, hit him!" Olive commanded.
Divine, emboldened by Olive's presence, raised her hand and slapped Greg hard across the face. A resounding slap echoed through the silent pharmacy.
"Greg," Divine said, her voice ringing with anger, "this is for all the slander and humiliation. I would never hurt Olive, but you did this to me! And I'm telling you officially: I am not in love with you!" She slapped him again.
The onlookers were shocked. The previously embarrassed Divine radiated confidence.
Pamela froze, stunned by Olive's decisive action. She spotted Director Hudson approaching. Quickly composing herself, she smiled and said, "Director Hudson, you're here. Olive, stop. There are already rumors about your affair; inciting Divine to assault Greg isn't helping."
Olive, holding Divine's hand, stepped back, leaving the paralyzed Greg.
Director Hudson stormed in, furious. The institute was already in chaos over Olive's scandal; this further enraged him.
"Olive!" he roared. "Where do you think you are? I could expel you!" He wanted to confront both Olive and Divine but felt powerless beyond shouting.
Divine stepped forward. "Director Hudson, this is my fault. I hit Greg. I will explain to the dean."
Director Hudson frowned, Divine's status making it difficult to reprimand her as he wished.
Olive pulled Divine back. "Director Hudson," she said, "this is directed at me; I'll take full responsibility."
Director Hudson snorted. "Olive, to my office!"
Pamela's heart leaped; she was certain Olive would be expelled.
Olive faced Director Hudson with courage. "Director Hudson, I'll go, but Greg's actions haven't been addressed. Let's deal with him first!"
Everyone's expressions changed. Director Hudson stared at Olive. "Olive, you've practically paralyzed him. What more do you want?"
Olive scoffed. "Director Hudson, yesterday Greg stole Divine's phone and threw it onto the highway. That's a violation of privacy and a threat to her safety. I'm calling the police!"
