Chapter 130: Blind Date
"Olive, are you telling the truth?" North asked incredulously.
Olive remained silent. She knew she was telling the truth, and nothing but the truth.
"Olive, so you're saying that at fifteen, you were personally invited to study abroad by the principal of the Holy Nile Academy? Pamela only got into college because of Mr. Augustine. You're really annoying, you know? That was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!"
Olive pondered for a moment.
"Pamela and I have different paths in life."
"I won't talk to you anymore. I can't believe this," North added.
Olive smiled and put away her phone. Divine rushed over, gasping,
"Olive, this is bad. Pamela, Pamela…"
"Divine, slow down. You're out of breath," Olive said, patting Divine's shoulder.
"Olive, why are you so calm? Pamela just brought Professor Ruger from Holy Nile Academy. Director Hudson is with him."
Pamela brought her mentor to the Ivory Council?
Olive poured a glass of water and handed it to Divine.
"Here, drink some water."
Greg walked over, radiating confidence. The gloom had vanished from his face. He sneered at Olive.
"Olive, Professor Ruger is here and wants to see you. Director Hudson told me to invite you to his office." Greg glared at Olive before leaving.
Divine tugged Olive's sleeve.
"Olive, that professor really likes Pamela. He'll definitely humiliate you."
Olive replied calmly,
"Divine, don't worry. I'll go meet them soon."
"Olive, I'll go with you!" Divine, worried, quickly followed.
They left. Marvin, who had been sleeping on the table, slowly opened his black eyes and sat up. His subordinate, Phil, approached him.
"Second Master, are you awake?"
Marvin picked up a medical book and flipped through it lazily. He raised his eyes and asked Phil,
"Is Aunt coming over?"
Phil said respectfully,
"Aunt is the principal of the Holy Nile Academy. She's very busy. But I overheard Madam discussing with her about your bride; she hasn't been found yet. Aunt wants to introduce you to a talented girl. They want you to go on a blind date."
Marvin immediately slammed his medical book onto the table.
Phil was so frightened he didn't dare to speak.
Olive and Divine arrived at Director Hudson's office. Hudson was greeting Professor Ruger. Pamela, wearing a pink dress and nude makeup, stood beside Professor Ruger. The atmosphere was warm.
Olive knocked and entered.
"Director Hudson, did you send for me?"
Olive's arrival immediately changed the atmosphere. Professor Ruger scrutinized Olive from head to toe.
"Are you Olive?"
Olive met his gaze. "Yes, Professor Ruger, I'm Olive."
Professor Ruger snorted. "It seems you're a celebrity now. More famous than most. You're married to the CEO of Augustine Corporation, and you've become a wealthy young lady. Oh my, I came all this way to see you." A medical practitioner like Professor Ruger wouldn't normally read gossip. Pamela must have spoken badly about Olive.
Hudson coughed. "Olive, please pour Professor Ruger a cup of coffee."
"Okay, sir." Olive poured coffee for Professor Ruger.
"How old are you?" Professor Ruger asked.
"I just turned twenty."
"Twenty? A girl from a good family at twenty would be focusing on her studies. What's your major? Who's your tutor?"
Generally, a twenty-year-old girl would be in college. Even though North was in the entertainment industry, she was still a sophomore at NYU.
Pamela smiled quickly. "Teacher, Olive only graduated from high school. She has no academic qualifications or tutor."
In the medical world, mentors were highly valued. A respected mentor enhanced a student's reputation, as seen in Pamela's radiant demeanor with Professor Ruger present.
"What?" Professor Ruger frowned and looked at Hudson. "Director Hudson, Olive only graduated from high school? How was she admitted? When did Ivory Council's admission standards drop so low?"
Director Hudson, like Professor Ruger, valued degrees and medical experience, which Olive lacked, and her background was unclear.
Hudson smiled awkwardly. He couldn't have Olive removed.
"Professor Ruger, have some coffee." Hudson changed the subject.
Professor Ruger was dissatisfied.
"Olive, a girl must focus on character building, education, and self-development. You may not reach Pamela's level, but you shouldn't give up on yourself."
Professor Ruger was skilled at scolding people. His contempt for Olive was obvious.
Pamela felt proud. A few days ago, she looked ill. Today, she smiled proudly beside Professor Ruger, looking down at Olive. Pamela knew that ruining Olive's reputation would lead to Elvis divorcing her.
Olive poured Professor Ruger tea, smiling neither arrogantly nor calmly.
"Professor Ruger, I consider myself your student. I will work hard in the future."
Professor Ruger and Pamela felt their egos crushed.
"Director Hudson, I'm here to borrow a copy of 'Greater Doctor'
