The Substantiate Bride: Doted by My Billionaire Husband
Chapter 191
Elvis galloped away. He felt extremely proud. His Olive was amazing!
He grabbed his phone from his pocket and dialed Olive’s number. While waiting for the call to connect, Elvis looked sideways through the bright glass window. He saw a large number of people walking out of the Ivory Council. Dean Sebastian and Marvin were walking together, saying nothing to each other. Both were national academicians with unparalleled medical talents, leaving them little to discuss.
Everyone else was happily chitchatting. Even Director Hudson, usually strict, had laid down his armor of discipline to join the students in laughter and conversation.
Elvis watched quietly from his car. The Ivory Council students were in high spirits. Olive was being supported by Divine. In fact, Olive didn’t want to attend the dinner party.
“Divine, you can go ahead to the dinner. I’ll head home; I’m sure my husband will be here to pick me up soon,” Olive said.
“No!” Divine pulled Olive’s hand tightly. “Olive, it’s your night! Everyone is happy because of you. Why do you want to leave?”
“It’s…” Olive started to say something, but the phone in her bag rang. She quickly answered Elvis’s call.
“Hello, Mr. Augustine,” Olive murmured with a smile.
Elvis, focusing his gaze on Olive through the glass window, congratulated her in a low voice: “Mrs. Augustine, congratulations.”
Olive held the phone tighter and replied with a shy smile, “Thank you.”
“Mr. Augustine, where are you now?” she inquired.
Before Olive could say another word, Divine blurted out, “Mr. Augustine, the dean has invited us all to a dinner party. Can you please allow Olive to come along? She’ll be back tomorrow morning.”
“Divine!” Olive hastily covered Divine’s mouth with her hand.
Divine, frightened, ran behind Dean Sebastian and hid, peeking out from behind him to wink playfully at Olive. Olive chased after her, but Marvin’s tall figure suddenly appeared, blocking her path. Olive stumbled and fell into his embrace.
Her eyes turned red. Marvin’s hand landed on her forehead as he gently rubbed it. “I’m sorry, are you alright? Does it hurt?”
Elvis, in the car, watched calmly. His fingers curled, clenching the phone. His thin lips pursed into a cold, unhappy arc. His sharp, eagle-like eyes landed on Marvin’s hand.
Olive quickly took two steps back, avoiding Marvin’s hand. She rubbed her reddened forehead and muttered, “It’s fine, it doesn’t hurt.”
Marvin retracted his hand and looked down at her. “Sorry, okay?”
Divine ran over and rubbed Olive’s forehead. “Your life shouldn’t always revolve around Mr. Augustine. You should have your own circle of friends as well.”
“What? Olive, aren’t you going to attend the dinner party?” Dean Sebastian asked, overhearing Divine.
The students swiftly gathered, awaiting Olive’s response. Feeling embarrassed, she placed the phone to her ear and asked, “Mr. Augustine, can I please attend the dinner party? I’ll be back tomorrow morning.”
Elvis saw Olive’s dilemma and knew he needed to respond quickly. “It’s alright, you can go ahead. I have some documents to work on at the company. Have fun, okay?” he whispered.
“Thank you, Mr. Augustine,” Olive replied, hanging up and putting her phone back in her pocket. Elvis sat in the car, unmoving.
Two girls rushed over, staring at Olive and Marvin with admiration. “Hi, talented Olive and Academician Marvin, could you come together so we can take a picture with you?”
Olive, pushed forward by the students, happily nodded, “Okay.” The two girls stood to the side as Olive and Marvin stood in the middle.
“Olive, Academician Marvin, could you two get a little closer, please?” urged the student who was taking the picture.
The girls moved closer, causing Olive and Marvin’s bodies to brush. The picture was quickly taken.
Elvis sat in the car, watching. His hands tightened on the steering wheel until the veins in his hands throbbed. He didn’t like the scene at all; he didn’t like any physical contact between Olive and Marvin. He became unhappy and didn’t want Olive to continue at the party. In honesty, Olive’s ravishing beauty and radiance made him feel insecure. Marvin was beside her, and he could only sit in the car and watch.
Elvis closed his handsome eyes, took a deep breath, and tried to control himself. He stepped on the accelerator, and the Rolls-Royce Phantom sped away. He drove far enough that he could no longer see Olive in the rearview mirror.
Elvis regretted going to the Ivory Council. He wished he had stayed, as he didn’t know what the pair would do behind his back. He knew they would go to the dinner party together, maybe have a drink. Once drunk… Elvis knew it was the easiest way for someone to become sexually stimulated. Would she hug Marvin? Or would they kiss? Or would they even make out?
Elvis shut his eyes, snapping out of his thoughts. What was he thinking? Was it his beloved Olive he suspected this way? However, he couldn’t control himself. He was sick!
He stepped on the accelerator and kept driving.
