Chapter 198

Marvin reached out and hugged her in the hotel room. Olive sat on the sofa, pushing a long needle into her veins. After her previous experience, she believed her body was now somewhat accustomed to the mandala flower poison, and the pain wouldn't be as severe. However, the pain was far more excruciating than before.

From a medical standpoint, the poison had built up some immunity in her blood. Her blood's defenses had weakened, making the poison more effective. Olive's face turned pale, sweat pouring from her forehead. She felt as if her bones were shattering.

Enduring the intense pain, she quickly picked up a pen and wrote down some important medical equations. One crucial equation, however, remained missing. She felt close to success; victory was within her grasp. She had developed an antidote! But that one equation eluded her.

She tried to think critically, but her strength failed her. She fell from the chair, landing weakly on the tiled floor. Blood dripped from her nose, staining her mask. She reached for the needle, but a sharp whistle pierced her ears, and her head spun. Darkness closed in.

Falling to the ground like a deflated balloon, she groped around. "Where's the needle?" she cried inwardly. Her vision blurred, and she was about to faint.

The room door burst open. "Olive, Olive! Open your eyes; don't fall asleep! The mandala flower will damage your brain!"

She heard her name called and fought to open her eyes. Marvin was there! But it wasn't Marvin; his face had shifted to Elvis's. She weakly parted her lips. "Mr. Augustine, you're here."

Marvin knew about the mandala flower and its effects. Once the poison took hold, confusion was inevitable. "Don't move; I'll remove the poison now."

He took out a sharp medical knife and made a shallow cut on her fingertip. The wound was minimal, as expected of a high-quality knife. Olive felt the pain gradually subside, then disappear. However, she remained unconscious.

"Take a rest; you'll be fine soon. There's blood on your face. I'll get you a towel." Marvin started to get up and walk to the bathroom, but two hands clasped his waist. Olive's soft body pressed close.

"Mr. Augustine, hug me for a while. I'm so cold," she murmured, her voice soft and weak. Marvin felt her cold body temperature—a stark warning of her condition. He gently removed her hands.

"Olive, you're mistaken. I'm not your Mr. Augustine."

She couldn't comprehend his words; her brain was still clouded. The dizziness threatened to send her tumbling, but she clung to him.

"Mr. Augustine, are you still angry with me? Don't be angry anymore. Let's reconcile. I'm so cold, and I need your hug," she pleaded softly.

Marvin stiffened, ceasing his attempts to pull away. "Olive, do you like Elvis that much? To save him, you put yourself in harm's way?"

His eyes fell on the paper with the equations, a flash of surprise crossing his face. She had unlocked the equations. Unfortunately, she was one step behind.

He looked at her face. "Olive, your poison ordeal is over. It's a shame you couldn't save Elvis, even after ruining your blood."

Olive couldn't hear him. He looked at the mask; blood stained the white fabric. He gently removed it. Her small face was pale, her features delicate.

Marvin blinked, mesmerized. He'd fantasized about her countless times, imagining her appearance. Now, seeing her face bare, he was captivated by her beauty; her pallor only enhanced it.

He wiped the blood from her nose with his sleeve. As a doctor, he was meticulous about cleanliness, but he didn't mind the stain.

Feeling his gentleness, she hugged him again. He slowly wrapped his arms around her, desperate to provide warmth.

"Olive, divorce him," he said softly.

Outside, Pamela looked at the closed door, pulled out her phone, and dialed Elvis's number. The phone rang once. Elvis's deep voice answered.

"Hello."

"Mr. Augustine, come to Starzeal immediately. Olive is in a hotel room with Marvin. They've been in there a while."

There was a pause. "Mr. Augustine, I think something is wrong with Olive. She had her blood tested at the research institute. Do you know about this?"

Elvis inhaled deeply. "What room is she in?"
