"What?" I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Liana quickly patted my hand to calm me down.
All the staff members turned to me when they heard my loud voice. I looked at them and said, "Focus on your work, not me."
They seemed stunned. They weren't used to my cold behavior. I was so angry at Adrian that I couldn't control it. I almost forgot I was an Alpha. My aggressiveness constantly reminded me of my rank.
I yanked my hand away and rubbed my forehead, trying to prevent my eyes from changing color. I walked to the changing room and sat on the small couch.
"I can't believe it, Adrian. You gave my boss such a large order, then added that condition! How dare you?" I muttered angrily.
Liana entered the room and rested her hand on my shoulder. "I thought Alpha Adrian was your friend. The way he took you from the shop yesterday made me think you two had resolved things."
I covered my face and shook my head. "Liana, there's no way we can reconcile."
"Why? He's our head Alpha. What has he done that you don't want to see him?"
I looked up at her, pulling down my collar to show her the unhealed mark. "This mark you asked about—he gave it to me."
Her eyes widened. She gasped. "N–Natalia—"
I stood, and she took a step back. "The twins I mentioned are also his children. Your head Alpha is my ex-husband."
Her eyes nearly popped out. She was completely shocked. I could see her trembling slightly.
I closed my eyes, trying to calm myself. I couldn't push away those close to me because of him.
"I'm so sorry. What have I done? I didn't know Alpha Adrian was your ex-husband."
She covered her mouth. I felt bad for her; she felt guilty, though it wasn't her fault. I held her hands and spoke softly. "I apologize, Liana. I yelled at you. I shouldn't have been so rude to an elder."
She hugged me, expressing her regret. "I wasn't aware. Otherwise, I never would have accepted his offer yesterday."
After a while, she broke the hug. "I'm going to call his company and cancel the order."
She left the room. I followed and saw her telling the others to stop working. We'd already made over two hundred cups of coffee. Looking out, I saw the van had arrived to collect the day's coffee.
"Liana, what are you saying? We can't afford to lose the order. What will we do with all this coffee? We can't expect that many customers."
I saw Liana's distraught expression. I felt terrible. I couldn't help but resent Adrian. He was making my life miserable.
I took a deep breath and made a decision. "Liana, I'll go to the pack company."
