Chapter 1026: What She Feels About You
In the Farwell Group CEO's office, Jonathan sat across from Lucian, a teasing smile playing on his lips. "I hear a portion of medicinal herbs from Herbscape Group's overseas branch has been shipped back to Horington."
Lucian merely nodded. "Back then, I suggested you lend a hand, but you refused. Now, look what's happened!" Jonathan chuckled. "I thought you'd ignore Roxanne completely, but you intervened anyway! So, how did Dr. Jarvis respond to your assistance?"
Lucian's face clouded at the mention of Roxanne. Jonathan, sensing his friend's discomfort, realized he'd overstepped. The silence spoke volumes; their relationship hadn't improved, perhaps even worsened.
Noticing Jonathan's puzzled frown, Lucian admitted, "It's been a week since we've contacted each other."
Jonathan's confusion deepened. "What? Why? What happened?" He studied Lucian, suspecting either a disagreement with Roxanne or another incident that angered her. After all, Lucian was determined to win her affection.
Lucian understood Jonathan's thoughts, recognizing the similarity to Estella's perspective. He sighed helplessly. "I don't know the reason either," he confessed, pausing for breath. "I thought I'd done enough for her, but she started avoiding me after my mother brought Essie home. She knew I was sick last week, but didn't even ask how I was."
This further baffled Jonathan. Before he could process this, Lucian added, "I did exactly as you advised. I sent the necessary herbs, but she didn't even contact me afterward."
"She didn't even call to thank you?" Jonathan exclaimed, shocked.
Lucian offered a wry smile. Not only had Roxanne not expressed gratitude, but someone else had answered his calls.
"This doesn't make senseโฆ You've done so much for Dr. Jarvis. She should at least feel somethingโฆ" Jonathan murmured, perplexed. How could she feel nothing at all?
"What else can I do?" Lucian asked, his tone cold.
Jonathan felt a pang of guilt. He'd been advising Lucian on courting Roxanne; he felt partially responsible for his friend's setbacks. Roxanne was the perfect woman for Lucian, and he couldn't bear to see her leave him. Yet, Lucian's words suggested she no longer harbored feelings for him; otherwise, she would have checked on him during his illness.
Jonathan looked at Lucian, asking cautiously, "Lucian, what do you think Ms. Jarvis feels about you?"
