Chapter 1184

Lucian inwardly chided Roxanne. "Are you really this ruthless? Archie and Benny are weeping by your bed. Don't you feel any remorse? Why aren't you waking up?" Their sobs echoed through the hospital room. He slammed his fist against the wall before storming out.

"Well? Are her brain waves fluctuating?" The chill in the air felt almost tangible. "If there's no response while Archie and Benny are heartbroken, I'll hold those doctors accountable for this foolish idea!"

The specialists, equally anxious, observed the scene. One offered Lucian his seat. "Mr. Farwell, you can examine this."

Leaning closer, Lucian saw the violently fluctuating curve on the monitor. "It fluctuated earlier when you spoke to Ms. Jarvis, but not this intensely." The specialist pointed. "The children's presence is clearly having some effect."

Lucian's brow furrowed. Since Roxanne could hear them, why wasn't she waking up? The image of Archie and Benny's heartbreaking sobs fueled a furious desire for revenge against Roxanne's attacker.

Noticing their distress, the specialist urged, "Mr. Farwell, the children are exhausted. You should check on them."

Lucian returned to the room. Sobbing, Benny grabbed his hand, leading him to the bed. Lucian let the boy's sweaty hand clasp his. He looked down at Roxanne.

"Can Mommy really hear us? Why... why isn't she awake yet?" Benny whimpered.

Lucian patted the boy's head. "Yes, she has heard you. She's trying her best to wake up. Let's keep talking to her."

Skepticism clouded Archie and Benny's faces. Lucian felt helpless to comfort them further.

Benny impulsively pushed his mother. Roxanne's body swayed. Lucian started to intervene, but Archie interrupted.

"Mommy!" Archie exclaimed, eyes wide. "Quick, Mr. Farwell! Is Mommy waking up?"

Lucian's heart leaped. Roxanne's hand, outside the covers, twitched. All three held their breath, watching intently.

A few seconds later, her pinky finger curled slightly, then relaxed. It seemed like an illusion.

Archie and Benny waited expectantly, but Roxanne remained still. Benny anxiously grabbed her hand. "Mommy, hurry up and wake up. I'm scared..."

Lucian summoned the specialists. "Her hand moved. Why isn't she awake?"
