Chapter 1192

Awhile later, the specialists left the ward. Lucian immediately looked up as the doors opened. "How is she?"

Smiling reassuringly, the lead specialist nodded. "Ms. Jarvis woke up sooner than expected. She'll be fine. The follow-up treatment is much simpler; you just need to ensure she remains calm."

Lucian nodded and stared at Roxanne through the doorway. She had lain back down, and turning, faced away from him. His eyes darkened.

"Mr. Farwell, we'll be going if there's nothing else. I'm sure you and the children have much to catch up on with Ms. Jarvis," the specialist said.

Lucian nodded and stepped aside to let them leave. As soon as the specialists entered the elevator, the three children rushed eagerly into the ward.

"Mommy!"

Archie and Benny's eyes sparkled as they ran to Roxanne, their large eyes resembling those of puppies. Estella followed, opening her mouth as if to speak, then falling silent. Lucian noticed she likely mouthed "Mommy" like the boys. A peculiar look crossed his face at her timidity.

"Mommy, how are you feeling? Are you uncomfortable?" Archie asked with concern.

Roxanne smiled gently. "I'm alright. I'm sorry to have worried you. Were you frightened?"

The children fervently shook their heads. "We weren't scared. We were just worried about Mommy."

Though they reassured her, Roxanne saw the fear in their eyes. Her heart ached, remembering their ordeal. "I'm really alright. I'll always be here for you," she said, unable to shake the self-blame. She reflected on her carelessness with the gas during the experiment. She was Archie and Benny's only family and needed to take better care of herself.

"I promise I'll never let something like this happen again," she said apologetically.

Nodding obediently, Archie and Benny tried to comfort her. "Don't worry, Mommy. We'll take good care of ourselves and you."

Roxanne was touched. Benny then remembered Lucian, standing at the doorway. He turned to his mother and said sweetly, "It's all thanks to Mr. Farwell's help. I don't know what Archie and I would have done otherwise."

This incident made the children appreciate Lucian's importance and spurred them to reconcile Roxanne and Lucian. Archie added, sensing Benny's intention, "Mr. Farwell stayed with Mommy the whole time! He even had Mr. Lawson take us home. Mommy, Mr. Farwell was a huge help!" His face was serious. Estella, unsure how to praise Lucian's efforts, simply nodded in agreement.
