Chapter 1212
The search for Roxanne proved difficult; Lucian was deliberately evading Jack. Despite searching all day, Jack found nothing, unable to reach Roxanneโs phone either. Just as his concern mounted, he received an anonymous text message revealing her location. Though unsure of the sender's veracity, Jack immediately drove to the hospital, arriving after an hourโs drive. He was determined to know her fate.
The elevator reached the top floor. Stepping out, he found Cayden guarding a ward entrance. With a cold expression, Jack demanded, "Where's Lucian?"
Cayden, momentarily stunned, replied politely, "Mr. Farwell is inside with Ms. Jarvis. She's likely asleep. I can relay a message when she wakes if you wish, but please don't disturb her rest." He subtly blocked Jack's path.
Jack scowled and stepped closer. "Let me through."
Grimacing, Cayden pleaded, "Please don't make this difficult, Mr. Damaris. This is Mr. Farwell's order."
"Then tell him to come out!" Jack barked.
Cayden remained firm. Jack attempted to circumvent him, but Cayden blocked his every move, their interaction escalating into a physical altercation. Cayden suffered under Jack's strength, despite Lucian's orders to prevent entry. Ultimately, Jack pinned Cayden to the door, about to force it open, when the door swung inward.
Lucian emerged, his grim expression hardening into a scowl at the sight of Jack. "Why are you here so late, Mr. Damaris?" He closed the door, blocking the entrance with his body.
Jack released Cayden and fixed Lucian with an intense gaze. "Where's Ms. Jarvis? How is she?"
Coldly, Lucian replied, "She's fine. You needn't worry."
"Let me in! I want to see for myself!" Jack insisted.
He moved to barge past, only to be stopped again by Cayden, who, with Lucian present, offered no further resistance. Jack paused, recognizing the futility of the situation. Cayden relaxed his stance.
"I wonder what Ms. Jarvis would think of you preventing my visit, Mr. Farwell," Jack attempted, a subtle negotiation.
Lucian remained unmoved. "She won't know."
Jack's expression shifted. "Even if she knows, nothing will happen," Lucian scoffed. "Don't forget, Mr. Damaris, you two are only business partners. Your late-night visit is clearly inappropriate."
