Chapter 1228

“Mommy, why are you back so soon? Shouldn’t you spend more time at the hospital?” Archie looked at Roxanne with worry. His glance flickered to Lucian; he had a secret plan. If Mommy stays for two more days, Daddy will have more time with her!

Lucian noticed Archie's glance, but couldn't decipher his thoughts. Roxanne was speechless. "So you want me to stay at the hospital?"

The children exchanged glances. Archie replied seriously, "We're worried about you, Mommy. We thought you should stay for at least two days."

A surge of warmth filled Roxanne's heart. Feigning reluctance, she looked at Archie. "But I miss you guys."

"We can visit Mommy at the hospital!" Benny chirped.

Roxanne, amused, kissed Benny. Estella and Archie immediately moved closer. Archie quickly leaned in for a kiss. Roxanne smiled and kissed his cheek. Estella stood timidly behind, her face full of anticipation.

A pang of guilt struck Roxanne. Estella hadn't always been so hesitant; the tension between her and Lucian had caused this change. Smiling, Roxanne pulled Estella close, kissed her chubby cheeks, and hugged her tightly.

"Essie, thank you for trying to wake me with Archie and Benny. Otherwise, I don't know when I would have regained consciousness."

Estella's eyes brightened, a smile blooming on her face. As Roxanne felt Estella's arms slowly wrap around her neck, she smiled wider. Just as she was about to release her, Estella kissed her face. Roxanne froze, then felt a wave of emotion wash over her.

Archie and Benny, witnessing the reconciliation, rushed forward, each planting a kiss on Roxanne's cheek.

Lucian, standing at the door, watched them. A rare warmth flickered in his eyes.

"Mr. Farwell." Cayden approached.

Lucian nodded. "Thank you for your hard work. Go home and rest."

"I'll leave now. Please call if you need me," Cayden replied, bowing slightly before turning to leave.

It had been a while since Mr. Farwell and Ms. Jarvis had gotten along so well. I shouldn’t intrude.

Roxanne had initially intended to see Cayden out, but Estella clung to her, refusing to let go. Roxanne couldn't manage to stand.

"Mommy, have you eaten?" Archie asked with concern.

Roxanne realized they hadn't eaten all day. After regaining consciousness, she'd had her checkup and a heated discussion with Lucian. She wasn't hungry, but Lucian needed nourishment after yesterday. Patting Estella's back reassuringly, she said, "I need to cook. Why don't you play with Archie and Benny?"
