Chapter 1345

“Daddy, why are you here?” Estella asked her father, her gaze curious. Roxanne was surprised by his swift arrival; she'd thought he was angry. Her question reminded Roxanne of something. Suppressing her embarrassment, she gave Archie and Benny a stern look, questioning which of them had texted Lucian. It couldn't have been Estella, so it must have been one of the boys.

“It wasn’t us!” Benny exclaimed, a chill running down his spine. He adopted an innocent expression. “If you don’t believe us, ask Mr. Farwell!” He turned to Lucian, who nodded readily. “I came here myself.”

Roxanne frowned, suspicion filling her eyes. The thought of their developing relationship, even without knowing they were related, was worrying. Knowing Roxanne suspected him, Benny offered an innocent smile and changed the subject. “Mommy, I’m freezing!”

Roxanne couldn't scold them, so she looked at Lucian. He was the only one who could buy the children clothes. Before she could ask, Lucian said, “I have clothes in the car you can change into.”

Roxanne’s suspicion grew. How could it be such a coincidence? As if reading her thoughts, Lucian arched a brow. “Don’t forget I brought you here after your return six years ago. This was my territory. Is there something wrong with me being here?”

Roxanne was speechless. His clear explanation prevented her from further probing; she didn't want to appear calculating.

“Perhaps this is fate,” Lucian remarked with a smile, gently pushing Archie and Benny. “Come, let's change your clothes.”

The boys obediently followed him to the car. While changing, Benny asked in surprise, “Mr. Farwell, why are you here?” They were soaked, and changing into dry clothes was difficult. Lucian had brought clothes but forgotten towels. He used his suit jacket to dry them; the expensive material was less than ideal, but better than nothing.

Lucian chuckled at Benny’s question. “You sent me your location, didn’t you?”

Benny grinned guiltily. “You didn’t answer, so I thought…” he trailed off. I thought he’s mad at Mommy!

Lucian guessed his thoughts. “You thought I’m angry at your mother because she rejected me?”

Benny chuckled sheepishly. Archie remained unfazed. “Are you upset?”

Lucian, taken aback by Archie’s directness, paused before replying. “No. Our past was a misunderstanding, entirely my fault. I want to win her back, nothing more.” A gentle smile touched his lips as he looked at the boys. “You’ll help me, right?”

Benny nodded eagerly, explaining Roxanne’s earlier mood. “It was my fault for making her angry,” he admitted.

Lucian finally understood Benny’s summons and felt pleased to help. “All right, I’ll handle this. Don’t worry, I’ll cheer her up.”
